What did you BUY today?

I've lost access to my old "ayase" e-mail address because I forgot the password and had no way to prove who I was, as I no longer have the mobile phone number I did when I set it up and apparently Google frowns on people using false names. Oops.

So I bought a domain name to have my very own e-mail address and to redirect to my blog. Maybe I'll finally use it now I'm paying for it.

Whilst I was at the cinema I purchased tickets for Alien and Fireworks. I've been lucky with work as shifts had been assigned for Nov and Dec well in advance as it's a busy period. I've also got next Thursday evening off when a different cinema is showing Predator. Don't know if I've got the evening off for Lu Over the Wall yet though.

Finally picked up Berserk and the Band of the Hawk for the PS4 since it dropped in price to £24.85 at Base.com It's still the same price it's been for months everywhere else (around £30-£35)

Blade Runner 4 disc UHD & Blu-ray set after seeing 2049 in the cinema at the final opportunity. Which was nice because there were only about a dozen people in the theatre.

Despite being one of my favourite films, I'd never upgraded to BD from my old DVD set (which was also the boxed set with all the different versions) so getting the UHD disc in there as well, all in a box with a nice art and photo book for £34.99 off the shelf in HMV (cheaper than I've seen it anywhere online) seemed like a good choice. Now I just need a UHD player - Tempted to follow @IncendiaryLemon and get an Xbox One S, not because I particularly want one but because it seems to be one of the most reasonably priced players and if I get like 3 games in a bundle I can sell them off/trade them in as a partial rebate.

Nice. I must get round to going to the cinema for 2049. It's down to one showing next week. When I went to see Ghost in the Shell, I think there was only 2 of us.

I only recently brought the Final Cut on Blu-Ray after having brought that same collection as my last DVD purchase before the PS3 came out.
I'll probably wait for the PS5 (hopefully Sony will have put in a UHD drive in this one having not put one in the Pro ) before going 4K.

There were six when I went to see Ghost in the Shell with a friend. A real shame since it was a really good film and it likely won't get a sequel.

I did leave it very late. I had to go to a neighbouring town where the Vue was still showing it. But looking at the box office results although total worldwide receipts did go over the budget, it tanked hard in the States, which we all know is the only place Hollywood executives care about.
I enjoyed it as a fan of the anime films and shows with all the nods and winks, but this also meant that it wasn't really its own thing. It would have been better if it had done an origins story, but with more subtle nods to the anime, instead of coping whole chunks of them. Just as the anime films were different from the shows and both were different from the Manga.

I saw it in Central London after uni in the afternoon. Yeah it isn't perfect, but it's still the best live Action anime film to date (not saying much but still) and I think it stands as a solid entry in the overall franchise. I want a sequel just to see Beat Takeshi Kitano be badass again. That and Pilou Asbaek as Batou, what perfect casting.

I got 2 new posters the other day from HMV, one of Konosuba and the other one is Ace Attorney. In Game I managed to find a pre owned copy of Fate Extella on PS4 for £7.99, so I snapped that one up straight away.

I just splurged a bit of my bonus pay from a project on an Ebay job lot of Nintendo Gameboy stuff. Snagged myself a console (the old DMG model with the dot matrix screen) AC adapter and a whole truckload of games. Well... 12 anyway.

All looks to be in good nick, and I'm looking forward to the novelty value of thumbing some Tetris and Mario Land during my tea breaks for the next little while. For the money I paid, even if I need to do a bit of repair or mod work, it was a good deal. :)

My phone contract was due for an upgrade, so I'm moving from the Samsung Galaxy S7 to the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. I've not had a 'phablet' before, so I'm curious how it feels in day to day use. I do see it has a one handed mode, which scales the screen back to be usable with one hand, which is a neat feature I'll be certain to use. As part of a deal Vodafone were having, it's also coming bundled with a Huawei Smartwatch 2 as well, and I've also never used a smartwatch, despite being after one for a while, so tomorrow will be full of firsts!
