Well they have the rights, it generally takes a while for movies to get released as far as I know. I'm willing to bet it will be available before 2016 (this could be said to the Strike Witches movie as well, since both of them were part of the same bundle).

I got the japanese release since it has english subtitles.

Hello dears, I know these have been answered for me before I'm sure but, Hellsing Ultimate 9 & 10...is the BluRay combi play the only release of it? Like there's no DVD only?

Also, Free!...Season 1's not getting a Dub, right?

Regarding Hellsing Ultimate Volumes IX & X:
There are three versions:
- Blu-ray/DVD combo pack [A|1] from Funimation
- Blu-ray from Madman
- DVD [4] from Madman

Regarding Free! Season 1:
Discotek haven't ruled out an English dub version of the first season however they may give that to someone else based on what the comments have said on the Facebook page. It's possible that Funimation may be able to acquire the Blu-ray rights and release the first season with a dub that way. So for now it's subtitle only on DVD.

Okay so I have no idea what show to watch so first person to reply gets to pick, I am picking (or you are) from....
- Gurren Lagaan movies (I watched the series, loved it a lot just not watched the movies yet)
- Time of Eve: The Movie (again, LOVED the series on Crunchyroll, yet to watch the movie despite buying the Deluxe edition)
- Patema Inverted
- Outlaw Star
- Wolf Children (Jesus, I bought the collectors edition like 2 Christmases ago I think, forgot I had it lol)
- Tiger & Bunny
- Paranoia Agent
- Death Note

Watch Tiger & Bunny if you haven't seen it before. It's really good. I wouldn't rush to watch the Gurren Lagann movies if I were you though. They're just compilation movies for the most part, and a lot of the characters take a back seat and aren't developed at all. That said some scenes are changed and play out completely differently, so if you fancy an alternate yet cut down viewing of the show it's okay in that regard.

Tiger & Bunny is one of those series which I feel really doesn't get the attention it deserves. Maybe because it's a superhero show? I dunno.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It's got a solid dub too if that's your preferred viewing option.

I initially passed over it because of the name, but loads of people I follow on Twitter were fangirling very hard over it so I gave it a go. As someone who doesn't normally like dubs, I very much enjoy the dub.

Funny as I just logged back in to ask if the dub was any good lol I don't really have a preferred option (I usually watch a episode subbed and then one dubbed and decide based on that), but I actually thought being a superhero type show the dub might be good, not sure why I thought that tbh lol I'll give it a go, thanks again.

I also think T&B was one of the *least* overlooked shows in recent memory, so I assume Mangaranga just means "underrated".

So after recently buying the French release of Gundam Seed, as it was pretty much the UK release in a French box, I was wondering if there is some kind of list somewhere of out of print titles released in non English speaking countries that feature English language tracks or subs. Looking at prices on Amazon UK I saved a small fortune buying the French release as I managed to get all 50 episodes for about £14 when just the first half of the show would have cost £35 in the UK and I'd love to know if this applies to other titles.

Probably does, but so far you seem to be the only one looking down the avenue of Anglo-European releases. Any I've seen tended to be on Amazon and Ebay due to their international clientele. In saying that Beez were a French company (and held the Gundam license) so the Beez back catalog will be your friend here. :)

Ooooooh, do you know if the DVD is for sale anywhere yet please as literally, Amazon.com and UP1 are the only places I've found Hellsing Ultimate 9&10 for sale and thats the DVD BluRay combi pack.

I'm not sure if you're looking for the Region 1 release specifically but you could get the Region 4 release DVD only from Madman

Something I've always wondered about - people always using the Japanese titles for anime. Not saying it's inherently right or wrong, just that when someone's first language is English/they have watched the anime with an English dub or English subs, they still insist on using the Japanese title. ie. Shingeki no Kyojin instead of Attack on Titan, or Eve no Jikan instead of Time of Eve.

It just intrigues me, because it almost seems like a forced affectation, especially when the majority of online commentary and viewers will just refer to them by the English title. Like, is the world accidentally going to end if you don't refer to the show in a certain way?

Sometimes it's easier, although not in the examples you've cited. I usually go for the English title, but when it's a choice between Saikano and She, The Ultimate Weapon...

I've always found this supremely irritating. Especially when it comes from online critic / journalist types. Why muddy the whole point of reviewing something for other peoples benefit by putting a MASSIVE obstacle in front of them from the outset? If I want to look online for a review of Attack On Titan, then I'll search for Attack On Titan. Somebody could have the best coverage of the show out there, but if it's only going to show up for people tapping in the Japanese title, it's kind of wasted.

That kind of gets me on the whole topic of YouTube reviewers. I have pals who have been looking there for recommendations and reviews of shows, who have been put off by reviewers who either - to quote them word for word:

1. Swear incessantly,
2. Don't say anything much about the show itself,
3. Waste their whole video on unfunny jokes and grating humour,

or (my personal favourite)

4. Are so far up their own backsides they think we want to listen to them prattle on for more than five minutes.

How did all of the above become the accepted norm for reviewing anime? Where's the acknowledgement that some folks just want to find out about the shows without all that stuff?
