MCM London Comic Con October 2015 Announcements

The MCM train never stops.
Unless it's just before a Shirobako license announcement.

(Come on guys, someone has to bring that over).

I hope somehow the Tomino message emerges. I know the narrated to intro to the franchise has been used at US panels but the Tomino video sounded new, with Eri from Sunrise sounding genuinely heartbroken it wouldn't play.

So uh, nothing else announced then?

Quite the disappointing weekend, best news for me was that Durarara!!x2 Shou is coming in one release rather than two.......isn't that a little sad. :p Oh well, I'm sure I won't struggle to find stuff to spend money on elsewhere.

I think there will be news on social media later today but the chances seem to be unlikely now. Sounds like we got hyped for nothing today haha.

Yeah all the Gundam panel was predictable and the viewster one was a omakase advert

Glad to hear of Turn A and ZZ for next year. I can finally throw away those dodgy fansub DVDs I burned many years ago and only watched once.

So, home from work (finally) so I quickly popped on here..whoa at all of these announcements! On top of the JoJo & FMP (Not seen FMP yet but I know I'm gonna like it so yay new Anime) news!

So much I would like to own, 2016 gonna be a crazy year.

I'm gutted neither Barakamon or Nozaki-Kun have been mentioned (Nozaki isn't the end of the world though as Sentai might be doing a fancy edition). I was hoping for Rage of Bahamut: Genesis & Mushi-Shi too but ah well, lots of stuff I want is coming over here and it's still possible for the four I mentioned to be licensed eventually.

I'd say, overall, this was fairly decent. Off of the top of my head the only announcements I am really interested in were Haruhi, School Live and Hanamonogatari. A couple of maybes in there for me like Monster Musume, Claymore on BD, Oremonogatari and Snafu but those 3 are the only definite purchases for me I think. For me, this entire weekend was overshadowed by the JoJo Part 4 anime being announced

Yeah seems pretty unlikely at this point. I guess there was quite a bit of variety in the shows announced, just nothing for me, which is fine I guess.

I never said anything but in the back of my mind I was completely convinced AL would announce a Millennium Actress BD.....still think that's a case of "when will they?" rather than just "will they?" though.

I thought that there was a strong possibility of this as well, as well as Mind Game. I'm also convinced (rightly, I hope!) that they'll both come eventually, but it would have made my week for them to be confirmed.

I think they're doing it to troll you and Smeelia at this point. The moment you give up and import Sentai's release , somebody will announce they have it :p

It all seemed slightly weird in the end. Andrew was about but not a particularly huge amount, it seemed like Jeremy was running most of it (at least from what was visible in the days). Even MCM loves Anime was opened by Jeremy who then handed it over to another member of the AL staff before disappearing back to the main venue.

There was only one piece Andrew seemed key in - introducing and being on stage with the Sunrise representative (who addressed the crowd via her interpreter)... It almost seemed like Andrew was particularly stressed the whole weekend and had put most of his effort into ensuring the trip for the sunrise rep went smoothly...

The sunrise rep kinda came across a little scary. Certainly when questions came around no one had the guts to ask what (seems to be to me at least) the elephant in the room of "Why didn't you let Andrew use the nice Italian art"...

There was meant to be a video message from (can't remember who exactly - creator?) a big cheese at sunrise which unfortunately wouldn't play.

Would have been nice to have some more announcements, although didn't we get some shortly after the last MCM by way of things showing up for pre-orders perhaps before they should have...?

She didn't seem scary to me. Pretty chatty but obviously trying to do her best representing her employer's flagship property in an untapped market. I've seen far worse fronting panels.

I think I'd rather they were overconfident than scared shitless like Aniplex of America's EJ Rivera seems to be when people ask him about pricing...

Bandai Visual US. They decided then rather support their existing US subsidiary, they'd show them how it's done...by releasing titles in Japanese style and with equally high prices. During a con panel that ended the presentation with the aforementioned quote, the rep completely lost control as the audience erupted into passionate but measured conplaining over how bad their strategy was.
