The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a thread)

Not sure this is the best thread to ask in, but I ordered a French release of Gundam SEED, combining both parts 1&2 (it looked like the seller had just bundled both individual releases together) for ~£20 from a seller called Anime Store on Amazon.fr.

Should I be suspicious of it? I'd hate to have accidentally ordered a bootleg, and the price does seem oddly cheap when the UK version is retailing for £40.

No it's legit. I ordered them back in May from an Amazon France market place seller and it's literally just the UK Beez release in a French box. I think I paid about £16 for mine.

Thanks, I'm guessing it'll be the same place as nobody else seems to be offering it.

I was hoping to get Destiny from them at some point (assuming I liked SEED), and obviously I wouldn't do that if it was a bootleg.

I have a soft spot for dumb sci-fi action stuff (hence my recent discovery that I am the only person in the world that likes Buddy Complex), I think I'll probably really like it...

Vaguely anime related question. Is it possible to order something on Amazon and have it dispatch with an upcoming pre order rather than ASAP to save on shipping?
You could put things in the basket and see what the checkout says (before confirming). If you choose the "group items into as few shipments as possible" option then they shouldn't charge you more than the checkout says even if they decide to ship an item out early. I've had orders where some items were waiting for stock and they dispatched the available items early without charging me extra while using the "group items" option (not sure if I've done it with a pre-order specifically, there might have been one time on Amazon.com).

Or did you mean adding a new order to an existing one? I'm not really sure about that.

How many log ins can you get from 1 crunchyroll premium account?
I'm fairly confident you can be logged in through at least two different devices at the same time (I recall doing that when I had problems with a video). I think the rules are just that you're not supposed to share it with anyone outside your household, although I'm not sure what the exact official rule is (I didn't notice there being a specific restriction listed in the FAQ section).

I'm sure there have been times I was watching a video (or just logged in) and had a manga open on the iPad app, while my other half was reading manga in the same house. And I've sometimes logged in on my computer to take a screenshot while watching an episode on PS4. Sharing it across households is bad, though.

Not really an anime question but relates to some anime i bought. Has anyone used ebay's global shipping programme (GSP)? How long have items from the USA generally taken for you? I've got Sankarea LE Blu-ray that has a estimated delivery window of 27 Aug - 4 Sep so i would have thought it would have arrived by now but the tracking hasn't updated since 4 Sep and it's just been sitting in Sandwell.

My last order took a week to arrive in the UK. I've only used GSP twice but it arrived within the delivery window both times, albeit on the last day.
California, US -> Belgium, start from the bottom

I can't say for 100% of the items I've ordered recently via the GSP but I know a reasonably large number used yodel for the last leg.

Make of that what you will.

I don't think i've ever had anything delivered by Yodel but going by the reviews on trustpilot they could be the ones delivering my parcels from GSP which is why the tracking isn't very reliable and really slow. Still no update on the Sankarea tracking but another couple blu-rays i ordered from the USA through ebay have said to be delivered yesterday while i was in but nothing has arrived not even a card to say they tried to deliver or left it with a neighbour, yet the tracking on ebay says it was delivered :?

Sometimes is says delivered in the ebay tracking screen but it means delivered to the GSP centre (which is where sellers post to). If that is the case those things are probably still in the states.

I can't say I've had any particular problems with Yodel... aside from packages disappearing into a black hole just before delivery and emerging a few days later at my house...

Does anyone own the bandai version of sword of the stranger? Is it region B compatible. I don't think I am going to be spending £50 (that is with all shipping fees through amazon) for one movie but it is a limited supply and it's amazing.

I do, and yes it is. Think it's region free.
