The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a thread)

Checked CDJapan and they say it would ship within 3-5 days so they would probably send me a similar email :/ maybe I shouldn't bother then if the 2nd movie is such a pain to get....seems odd that the first movie is easy to get but the 2nd isn't, maybe made less based on the 1st movies sales or something. Ahwel.
I would give CDJapan a go, i got the 2nd one from there when it said 3-5 days. Its usually if its says 5-7 days that you're likely to get an email saying they can't get it.

Now that I think about it, I'm sure my copy of Akito the Exiled vol.2 said 3-5 days, and it was dispatched by the time I woke up after ordering lol I remember you mentioning something about something being canceled when the timescale was a certain point, must have confused the numbers. I'll give it a go, probably get part 2 first and then get part 1, just to make sure. Thanks.

That doesn't make a lot of sense. You could get the entire set on blu ray for that or the Anime Ltd DVD set for less. They're probably better releases too being newer and all.

Should I buy the first 4 cowboy bebop volumes from a charity shop for £5 when volumes 5 and 6 will cost about £25?

Yeah as said above the recent re-release from AL is only £19.55 on amazon for the DVD or £29.95 for the blu-ray so might as well go for either of AL's releases, it'll save you shelf space too.

Ah I get were you're coming from in terms of wanting the volumes, I like volumes too but I mean the blu-ray collection is like £26 on Base. Maybe Vol. 6 is rarer as they printed less based on the sales of the other volumes or something.

Quick question if anyone happens to own it; I have the UK release of Kiki's Delivery Service on blu-ray, however the English dub is pretty poor (suffers from speed up, hence voices sound off at various points).

Any idea if the JP version suffers from the same issue?

Thanks!

Edit; found the answer elsewhere, if anyone was interested the JP version suffers from the same issue.

Yet another question about Amazon.jp...does anyone know how items bought from marketplace sellers, but fulfilled by Amazon work? Like, can you still pay the import fees?

Edit - Never mind, they won't ship it to my address anyway.

Just to answer the original question anyway; as far as I'm aware only items sold by Amazon are eligible for the "global" shipping option where Amazon pre-pays the customs fees.

Think the only option with marketplace sellers that are fulfilled by Amazon is "International Express" which is just as pricey and doesn't cover import fees, so it's a bit of a lottery if you get caught. You're more likely to get caught as well as the package is tracked. I've used it a couple of times when Amazon hasn't stocked what I'm after.

Yeah I tried again with a different seller but still fulfilled by Amazon and ordered something else direct from them and it split up the orders and one was "international Express" as you say. I'll just stick to trying CDJapan for Part 2 as they have now updated it to 1-2 days rather than 3-5. Thanks for the insight.

This isn't a question but a statement. GITS SAC is in fact available legally in HD in the UK, it's on the PSN store. (I found it scrolling through the animation section).

It's also available in HD on iTunes.

It is, but dub only as far as I'm aware on YouTube. Also not sure if they have the whole of the first GIG since it says 19 episodes in the Playlist and I couldn't find 2nd GIG on their YouTube channel at all, but that might be partly because I haven't seen the series so don't want to go searching around on YouTube too much in the instance that I see spoilers. I doubt that I'll ever watch the series as it doesn't look like my type of show but I still don't like spoiling things regardless. 1st GIG
