I often use http://www.dvdexpress247.com/

They are reasonably competitive on a fair amount of stuff price-wise. Prices include shipping and I've never had customs charges... I think they may re-post from UK although not 100% on this.

From their FAQ's -
"We are "VAT-friendly". Items are shipped individually and most items are below the importation threshold. We guarantee that if you receive ANY importation charges, we will reimburse you."

How long does a package usually take to arrive from DVDExpress247?

Maybe about a week and a half? Can't recall exactly. I know they are faster than the Amazon marketplace seller supermart_usa and probably a little faster than allyourmusic. I'm waiting on 2 deliveries from them at the moment;

Eureka Seven P2
Senran Kagura LE

Both were ordered on the 29th of last month. I can report back when they arrive if a more precise estimate is useful?

In general I've found them them helpful. Had 17 blu-rays off them so far this year. Only very minor issue is that they will sometimes list stuff that is no longer available but they've always speedily issued a refund once they confirmed that with their suppliers and then removed it from their listings.

No need to report back when those two arrive, i was just curious as i was tempted to use them quite awhile ago but was unsure if they would take ages to deliver but arriving under 2 weeks is good enough for me especially when delivery is free/included in price :)

i'm pretty sure like UP1 they ship to a warehouse here in the UK so there's no risk of import fees. I think the same company runs both DVDExpress247 & DVDWorldUSA too.

Looking into buying Paranoia agent. I read that a scene was cut by the BBFC on one of the discs. Obviously, I have no idea how important or unimportant the scene is on the whole so I was wondering if it would be worth importing another, uncut release or if it's still watchable.

I haven't seen the series but I'm aware the scene was important for the rest of the episode.

The show has gone OOP in USA so I'm waiting for that title to eventually receive a rescue.

I've not seen it yet, but I did buy the series on DVD a little while back and looked into what was censored before hand and it sounds like it may be pretty important (I mean, it's over a minute in cuts). I won't say what it is but it appears this certain thing is a bit of a sore spot for the BBFC. Anyway when i get around to watching it I'll watch that episode online to see it uncut.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Ah yes, the infamous "imitable suicide by a child, even though it already has an 18 rating to stop children seeing it" decision. A genuinely baffling interpretation of the BBFC's remit, even for them.

Don't forget my questions on the last page.

I watched the UK set of the series a few months and that cut was quite a jarring one and really noticeable. As said above though the USA set is OOP atm so your best bet would be to buy the UK set and just watch the cut episode on youtube (that's where i watched it).

Ah right, fair enough then. Just for future notice, which is the episode that is effected?

It's Episode 8 that is cut.

Very random question...

I'm sure I saw previously on youtube a compilation of all the soil colours from final fantasy unlimited in the original Japanese with subs. But I can't find it. Basically the video below (i'll attempt to embed) except in Japanese.

For some strange reason I get the occasional urge for FFU and the colours they came up with were hilarious. Anyone have the link?

Are Anime Online reliable for pre orders? I ask as I normally pre order everything on Amazon as I know they are very reliable and have always delivered things in time for release when I have used them but Love Live is weirdly expensive on Amazon. Normally things get put on Amazon then they come down in price closer to the release date, so I pre ordered it at £37, hoping it would come down to £30 like on Anime Online. However, the price on Amazon has actually gone up to £42. Will the price come down to £30 or should I pre-order with Anime Online instead, who already have it at £30.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Anime Online is run by the same people who run MVM, and with Love Live being a MVM title you would probably get it a week or so early. Do be aware though that they take payment when you order, not when it ships (unless this has changed recently?).

I see. I won't have the money until closer to the release anyway (Well I do but then I wouldn't be able to get Kill la Kill) so I'll just bide my time for now.

Best bit about FFU was trying to guess the summon by the soils used... I got about half...

I was wondering, does anyone else experience stuttering issues with Crunchyroll? I just started using it this week, and every so often, a show will start to stutter and I have to leave it for a bit. I'm not sure if it's buffering because it can work flawlessly for ages then just start to stutter then have no issues for the rest of an episode after I start watching again. My internet should be fast enough to stream 1080p video with no issues, so I don't think it's my end.

Crunchyroll is terrible when it comes to streaming. During Uni it took me months to finish Genshiken Second Generation because of how bad CR's buffering is (it always happens during the opening song). CR always blames the user's internet when it's actually their fault because dozens of people have pointed out that their internet is perfectly fine. I know mine was because I was able to stream YouTube and other sites without fault.

It's gotten better for me now but it won't buffer much if I pause an episode for too long.

Sad to hear that. You'd think if they got enough complaints they'd actually do something about it considering they're probably the biggest Anime streaming site in Europe and America.
