The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a thread)

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Wouldn't it be an idea to make a separate thread for this ?

Hmm... I thought about it but I wasn't sure if it was worth it. I guess I could make one that covers Aniplex, Funimation, Sentai Filmworks and Viz Media and update it with info on whether the item is going OOP or not, if there's demand.

I'm sure there are collectors out there (like some of us on this forum) that would like to know if a certain LE set they wanted to pickup is going to sell out or not.

Quite possibly.

If NormanicGrav (or anyone else) happens to also have a list of the OOP LE's I'd also be very much interested in this. But don't go out of your way to compile (unless you have a particular urge to do so).

If there is any value in putting this lot in a new thread then I could do that. If there's any value in it I could also cross-reference with the US region free thread and do something like colour coding the lists based on region if anyone thinks there may be some benefit to that too?

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Compiling a list of the OOP LE's i know of for the moment, might take a while.

Thanks of my Excel spreadsheet (which I use to decide what anime I should get next) I pretty much made a huge list of LEs so I could make one right now (and I have free time anyway). I'm up for making one but if one of you want to do it I'm happy to help out like I've done with the Overseas Artwork and News threads.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Ah OK very nice, but since i have a small list of all FUNi LE (i think) here is what i have on file;

DVD sized
Deadman Wonderland [DVD]
Is This a Zombie? [DVD]
Is This A Zombie? Of The Dead [DVD]
Rosario + Vampire: Season 1 [DVD]

Not sure about the size;

Baka and Test Summon the Beasts: Season 1 [BD/DVD]
Baka and Test Summon the Beasts: Season 2 [BD/DVD]
Dance in the Vampire Bund [BD/DVD]
Darker than Black: Season 2 + OVAs [BD/DVD]

Haganai I Don't Have Many Friends NEXT [BD/DVD]
Heaven's Lost Property: Season 1 [BD/DVD]
High School DxD [BD/DVD]
High School DxD New [BD/DVD]
OniAi [BD/DVD]
Sankarea Undying Love [BD/DVD]
Sekirei Pure Engagement [BD/DVD]
We Without Wings [BD/DVD]

Not sure about these but they do seem to come in a chipboard box. GiTS is for me also a bit of a puzzle, it is listed on other sites as a LE.

Ghost in the Shell ARISE 1 [BD]
Ghost in the Shell ARISE 2 [BD]
Ghost in the Shell ARISE 3 [BD]
Ghost in the Shell ARISE 4 [BD]
Heaven's Lost Property Forte: Season 2 [BD]
Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt [BD]

Premium Edition

Psycho-Pass [BD/DVD]
Darker Than Black: Season 1 [BD/DVD]

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Hmm can't think of the best way to format such a thing. The more I think about it, the more I think this kind of thing would require me to put my database hat on although spreadsheet would probably work fine. Thinking of useful properties...

Name, Studio, Release Date, OOP (Boolean), Form Factor, Region, Multipart Release

What properties do you have in your spreadsheet?

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Google Docs spreadsheet document maybe ? Like Fandompost did for example for JP/Korean/HK BD and DVD with English dub or sub.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

I thought ga-rei: zero was DVD size. I thought I had the LE myself but turns out it's cardboard and it looks from a youtube unboxing video that there is one released as chipboard so I guess I don't although it does look in that video like the LE is DVD sized?

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Has anyone got the LE of Darker than Black: Season 2 + OVAs [BD/DVD] to say what size it is? BD or DVD size?

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

I can confirm that the DtB s2 LE is DVD-sized.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Some guy one eBay is selling his faulty Durarara discs from the LE in a standard edition case for about £15. Is it still watchable? I'd only watch the dub if that makes any difference. I would think about getting the LE as it's less than £10 more on Amazon ATM but I'm not sure if the replacement program is over. I'm not massively bothered about the fancy box, so would it be worth it?

I like the box, and I've got a feeling the box will look even better with X2 next to it... I can't really comment on the difference as I haven't watched the new disks, but you've just missed the LE at 19.99 on zavvi... Wouldn't surprise me if it shows up somewhere else at that price at some point. Don't know about replacement disks either if you were to buy now (perhaps ask in the Anime Ltd thread) but the fairest sounding way of doing it would be if they continued to provide replacements with proof of a new (rather than second hand) purchase...

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

You need a signs only track for the dub, which the LE doesn't have. I would say go for Amazon's LE and use the replacement programme, but on the last podcast, Jeremy said that the replacement programme was drawing to a close in the near future, although he didn't specify a date.
