The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

Wow, AT LEAST 5-6! I'm excited to hear what there is. Could this be the time for Lodoss?! :)

I think currently there are about 20 AL licenses that haven't been released yet (that we know about), so I'm fearing for my wallet in the next year or so!

Tomorrow will finally be the day when Natsumes Book of Friends Ultimate Edition is announced by Anime Limited with all 4 series and a lovely artbook housed inside a great box :)

Andrew, if you can score the Neon Genesis Evangelion box set ahead of the North American release, then I shall worship the ground upon which you tread.

Otherwise, Monster or Nichijou would not go amiss.

If we're in pure wishlist territory - any old-school mecha action would be a win in my book. If we're getting those awesome Gundam announcements, the next logical thing would be Macross, but I can't see that ever happening.

I'd love to see stuff like Five Star Stories or Aura Battler Dunbine get a release.

I think everyone would be very surprised if that happened, Andrew has specifically said (during their last podcast, I think it was) that there are legal issues with the way it was previously licensed that mean Evangelion for the UK is basically impossible at the moment and for the foreseeable future...

Hmmm do Manga still have rights to the original FMA...? Could we be getting a UE off the back of the funi BR release?

Manga never had the rights to FMA. It was an MVM license until volume 8, then Funimation pulled their deal, and the license transferred to Revelation. who released up to volume 13, and two releases of The Conqueror of Shamballa, vanilla and a year later the SE. They also then re-released FMA in four LE boxsets with packaging and booklets. (Manga later picked up Conqueror of Shamballa for Blu-ray).

I'd guess right now that no one has FMA in the UK.
