Beez Entertainment too! Unconfirmed rumour as yet!

So basically, like others have said ..its the same as the US Situation, so we won't be getting the Durarara Boxset or S-CRY-ED

I've got from devoteddvd by ebay in the past as the way they post to the uk enters royal mail's system without going into customs etc
Hmm, interesting. I found this on one of their ebay listings:

UK Customers - DeVoteD DVD has teamed up with UK Royal Mail. Meaning that our Goods are shipped from Australia using DHL Express straight across to UK and into the Royal Mail Postal system. With the UK Direct Mail option we are not required to include any custom declarations on the parcel.
Therefore there is NO risk of getting stuck in customs and anything more to pay.
I don't know how kosher that is, but I think I may know where I'll get Denno Coil from. Thanks for the heads-up!

While it sounds like the dodgiest thing in the universe, I also made a test order >_>;

Sod ebay!

They have the same terms on their website, so buying direct from them, as long as you select the Recorded Signed For option, will apparently skip customs. Note that if you don't select Recorded Signed For, they don't accept responsibility for loss in transit. It's the same price as minimal rest of the world though.

As our orders are sent directly into the Royal Mail system using second class delivery we do not need to include any customs documentations on the parcels as this is payable at our end if necessary.

Customs payable at their end sounds a whole lot more kosher.

For what it's worth, I've bought directly from them before, and Atlantic DVD if you want another tested option.

Well, that's some good news. I doubt however they will make it to region two. I can't recall if MangaUK deal with them. I know StudioCanal do but that's only with films like Ghibli.

Most of Manga's stuff is from Madman, they are really close. The main issue is that Manga hate releasing anything sub-only, so if that does happen I'll assume it's never coming here.

That in itself is annoying to me, because I only really watch subs.
Erm you still get subs. What she meant was there usually is a dub as well. A win-win for everyone, unless your one of "those people" who think anyone who watches dubs is a complete moron too.

Oh no, I don't mean that. I don't mind how people watch or listen to their anime. It's just my personal taste to watch in subtitles, and I think that not releasing a DVD just because it is only in subtitles is stupid.

I'm starting to find that seeing companies that are still doing dubs is a good barometer of the fiscal health of that company and when a company starts doing just sub only, it's a bad sign and not long we hear and see them die.

I don't know. Right Stuf seems to release stuff in subtitles only and is doing fine (Aria was subtitles only for example).

NISA do sub-only as well and have done since the outset, and the quality of their licenses is, if anything, only increasing over time (and they're doing blu now as well). When the big guys start removing dubs, it's definitely a sign of cost-cutting, but the smaller companies doing more specialist material should be fine.

Sentai and MB dub the popular shows and not the niche ones, then go back and dub the niche ones if they do well. I think that's a happy medium to avoid big losses, if a frustrating situation for the dub fans who have to keep their fingers crossed. MB seem to be having a lot of difficulties lately though with delays and few new licenses (which actually come out). I worry about them.

Most of Nozomi's dvds get released in boxsets (usually with a booklet) so are good to own.

Hopefully the sets that they sell cheaply will prompt people to buy more off them. They deserve they're reputation. I don't know what it is, but it feels more personal getting shows from MB, then FUNi or other companies for that matter. As though they put quite some dedication into it

I don't. If anything it's justice for half the crap they pulled

(Cancel the dub of GaoGaiGar after I went though blood, sweat and tears to get the first five singles and then give Queen's Blade and Dokoro Chan dubs? Yeah, thanks MB, I hope you rot in hell too)

Never did get Tekaman Blade, though, I'll probably fix that soon.
