What Games Are You Playing?

I am waiting for the day that they make all PS3 games remote play compatible, so I can sit downstairs and watch the TV whilst grinding on the Vita. :D

That would be so fantastic. I'm currently sat here with the L1 button held down whilst doing the slots in the casino, so that I can get the Serendipitous trophy. It's this or gil farm, and right now I can't access my ps3 so...this made...sense...? It's the one that I was worried about doing the most so I thought I'd get it out of the way now. I don't normally go out of my way for Achievements/Trophies but rewarding me with themes? Yeah that incentivises me enough!

How is the Vita? I was rather close to ordering one, but the games that I want aren't out for a few months (Well...I can't bring myself to import P4 The Golden for that price. I'll wait for the, almost inevitable, US/UK release.) Gravity Daze does look fantastic though...

Got back into Total War: Shogun 2 this week. 16 hours of gameplay later and I'm still too darn defensive to win a campaign. I have far too much fun butchering besieging armies with my matchlock ashigarus!

So, I lied and started MGS2 anyways lol. Replaying it along with the others, I think it's probably my second favourite now, after 3, maybe equal to Peace Walker, PW is a bit of an odd one because it's so different. I'm still not a big fan of MGS2's bosses though. I like Fatman, but I find most of the others a bit of a pain, though the Ray Battle Royale at the end is pretty great.

Sellotape, bro. :p

I don't want to get too excited about it, but my initial impression is "best console ever made", it's just a question of whether it sells enough to see the software support it deserves.

Games at the moment are a fairly broad bunch, but not too deep. The standout ones are mostly the PSN downloadables, and a lot of big titles are technically not as impressive as they should be with seemingly no explantion. Fault has to be laid at the feet of Sony, though, as they seem to have given people either not enough time with the final hardware, or something was up with the code libraries at some stage, because despite people saying the machine is easy to code for, several games have had performance-enhancing patches delivered already, and some games run at sub-native resolution which really hurts their overall look.

I didn't play Gravity Daze yet, though, as the memory card I'm going to use with my JP PSN account only just showed up, and I had long expected that to be the "must have" launch title.

Ahahaha, come now sir. That would be sensible! I got the hump after about 2 hours but acquired the lucky coin fragment, yet not the trophy. I'll...Get that via chocobo racing I think... Everything else - gil farming. Should be easier and far more entertaining...

That sounds pretty good actually, apart from the technical difficulties. They said it's easy to program for, but then developers seem eager to rip on the ps3 being hard to code for. I really enjoyed my psp after about a year, when the ps store started taking off and games were coming out. I just have the nastiest feeling that it'll flop :(

I actually like the harrier boss in this one as my standout favourite, hate most of the others.

I haven't even given Peace (walker) a chance, Lennon would be dissapointed :p

I for some reason decided at 11pm last night that I'd start 'nanashi no game' on the DS since it had been fan translated. Not the best idea, I can do horror in films easily, for some reason with games I seem to be slightly more immersed on a personal level. Really love the 8-bit segments though, that music is as beautiful as it is haunting.

I enjoy the Harrier battle too, can be frustrating sometimes -especially when dodges are mistimed. I think Vamp is a pretty good boss too, bloody difficult though. Some of the speedruns vs him on youtube are insane, I could never manage to find an easy way to beat him.

Got a bit bored of Shogun 2 today, so started playing Chantelise. Grinding with no levelling system is a little frustrating, but the game's fun nonetheless.

Dear Esther.

97 minutes. Not long for a first play-through of a modern... I hesitate to even call it a "game" (and I imagine many will say the same thing, albeit in a derisory rather than descriptive manner) but what an involving, beautiful, frankly moving 97 minutes. It forces you to slow down, to take your time and just... experience. Anybody who's interested in having a very different interactive experience (and can put their preconceptions of what a "computer game" has to be aside) could do worse than check it out.

Well, I haven't played it for a while so I might enjoy it more this time. As a general rule though I find vehicle battles (that aren't Metal Gears or mechs) dull. All the tank battles, chopper battles they just lack inventiveness. I mean they can be found in a lot of other military shooters, I like MG to be a bit different.

So I did this before I left this morning. Around 50,000 coins. I've hit the jackpot 3 times and yet still no trophy. I'm still sat at about 20k coins! This is getting beyond ridiculous now...

Got the fragment at least :D

I've actually been wanting to check this out since I first heard of it. However I'm not a PC gamer in the least and have no idea if my computer can handle anything game related, I will try though.

So I begrudgingly gave Deus Ex HR another go after casting it aside, being unenamoured of it. However, since I rented it, I felt I should give it a bit more of a go and I'm glad I did, I'm getting a lot more out of it now, starting to understand a bit more about how the game works etc.

Deus Ex Human Revolution is one of the best games of last year (my personal best). I can't wait to play its sequel when I purchase the Syndicate reboot (which has little in commmon with the original except the title).

Yeah it's pretty good, though I wish the hacking minigame wasn't based so much on luck...

I had major problems when I first started with hacking but if you upgrade your haking skills it gets easier and the game really opens up.

Mmm, that kind of annoys me though... I mean I want to spend my precious praxis on fun augs that let me punch through walls and turn invisible, not wasting it on making the level of hacking I can do higher. and there are 5 levels. FIVE! I feel like that's pretty lame. It would be one thing to make higher levels of hacking harder without upgrades, but they just outright say NO! if you're not upgraded.

Also, the hacking tutorial was a steaming pile of turd. I had to watch another on youtube to learn that I was supposed to be getting to the green orb, not the red server thing and I'd spent most of my hacking just capturing as much as possible.

Anyway, at least the rest of the game is solid.
