What Games Are You Playing?

Just start SSX yesterday, was worried they would kill it -loved the old ones- but they didn't its actually pretty good

Start monday The Last Story -limited edition is so pretty- I love it so far, I was a bit apprehensive of the fact that there is not japanese language as english voices can be annoying at times and at first I did think not sure how long I can put up with this but they have actually come to grow on me -they used british and irish voices-

Still need to finish FFXIII-2 Im pretty much at the end just

How similar or dissimilar is this SSX to SSX3 on PS2? I loved SSX3.

To be honest all though I played all of the others and only recently parted with them I haven't played them in ages so they all kinda blur in to one XD

SSX3 Was the more realistic on right? If so then It compares really well, the maps are based on real mountains so theres no over the top stuff like in the others but enough jumps and grinds to make up for it =3

-Sorry reading back there wasn't very helpful XD lol Its been so long since I played them-

I'm still part the way through Yakuza 4 but with my amp playing up, I've started playing Skyrim and am about 20 odd hours in. Spent a lot of my time wandering around. I've not modded my version too much unlike some PC users, but still made a nice few tweaks.

After Yakuza and Skyrim...might be time to give Xenoblade a whirl.

So asides from working on Persona 4 and Skyward Sword in my free time, i went and decided to give the Tribes Ascend Beta a try and damn, is it good. I wondered at first how it'd be, considering i had come from a console based FPS background, but i was doing pretty good with it. I think in terms of shooters, it certainly is refreshing. No hit-scan weapons(or nearly none) means people actually need to be able to aim and react properly to score a kill. It's fantastic. I missed this kind of fun, i have to admit. So yeah, chances are i'll be playing more of it as i get the time to.

Finally!

This year's Treasure Hunter for sure.

And i'm almost finished with FFXIII-2. I've gotten all the fragments and now just need to rebeat the final boss to see the secret ending. Leaving the big nasties till the end was the right idea. It left me with all the fun things left to do, although I really am not amused that the game threw 3 trophies at me during my Long Gui fight. That's taking the piss for all those hours I grinded the thing in FFXIII, isn't it!? :p

...Although I might not be that close to my platinum. Despite having one thing left to do...I'm missing 3 trophies. One is the platinum, one is for viewing all paradox endings - I assume this includes the secret ending, cause otherwise this should have popped by now but...I have no idea what my last one is. I scanned over a list but I'm too tired to actually see properly what it is. Oh well, I'll finish that up tomorrow and then move onto Binary Domain!

Edit: Ha, Nice one Max! :)

Edit 2: Unbelieveable. I missed 5 staring weakend Atlas! Really!? Really. Ugh.

Platinum'd FFXIII-2 myself. I can see where the hate for the ending comes from, but I actually really like the direction they took. Pretty gutsy!

And so with that I started Binary Domain. What a fun little game, oozing with charm and pride at what it brings to the table. Having already played it beforehand I knew that the shooting would feel solid, but having come up against different types of enemies in the full game just solidifies that feeling. Shooting the limbs off of enemy robots feels highly satisfying, as is watching two of them going at each other. That's as well as the boss encounters feeling quite tight so far. Just faced one in chapter 2 where you can take his legs out individually, at which point his movements become different to which legs you take. However the more legs you take the more desperate he gets and starts spamming missles when he's unable to move. I wonder what would happen if you took all of his legs...

Really enjoying the cheesiness of it all. The stereotyping, down to the accents, is actually part of the charm. Not to mention the situations (Seriously, water sliding in chapter 1? I don't know if that was horrific or genuinely brilliant! :D) and the storyline presented so far are pretty intriguing. The idea of robots easily passing as humans gets you thinking about potential plot twists later on.

I've only been playing this for an hour and a half and I'm gushing praise already! Absolutely loving this! :D

More Deus Ex, just did the Megan's mum sidequest. As soon as I saw "body burned beyond recognition" in the medical report and read what was in Megan's safe, I immediately knew she'd turn out to be alive and most likely the traitor, after a quick googling session looks like I was right. Jeez. They could at least have been a bit more subtle... maybe it's the comic book fan in me, but now whenever there's the slightest doubt over a body's identity it's obviously going to be a set up :p

Final Fanasty 13-2 is worth buy ?

Kinda depends. If you enjoyed 13 then by all means I'd fully recommend it. However if you didn't enjoy 13, despite the fact that 13-2 is a better game, then I can't recommend it. 13-2 does significantly change a lot of things for the better, however it's still pretty similar in execution to 13.

About five hours into The Last Story. The only thing I really like about the game so far is the romance between the mercenary lead character and the sheltered rich girl. It's sweet. Otherwise, the characters aren't terribly interesting and the battle system is an awkward, clunky mess (nothing like Xenoblade's elegant, intuitive real-time combat). And it's easy to forget how ugly the Wii's SD graphics are... horrrp.

Also coming to the end of my second run through Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

Thanks explain for me. I am enjoy FF13. I will buy FF13-2 future.

I'm in love with Binary Domain. It's not going to set the third person world on fire, but my word it does things right. The shooting, specifically shooting the parts off of enemies, feels immensly satisfying and the set pieces are excellent. Some great humour and banter between team members too.

Haven't tried the voice comm system though, which likely adds a whole new dynamic, as just the basic L2 commands do the job nicely. Although if Big Bo doesn't stop walking in front of me...

Argh, that's a shame. I had a feeling that Nintendo had specifically brought out Xenoblade first, as it was the best of the lot. It's a shame about the looks as well, at times Xenoblade can look rather stunning for something on the Wii.

One thing i am forget post it. How many Final Fantasy Xiii-2 have character ? Because i am playing demo and there have only two character noel and serah

Corpse Party.

A peculiar little thing, this.

Nothing more than a glorified visual novel, but with basic adventure game actions (walk around, pick up matches, read the note etc...).

A group of high school students (and teacher) find themselves in a confined school after an earthquake. Ghosts both good and bad roam, and somebody is out to kill them in pretty horrible ways. Nice music, and despite it looking like a 16-bit game...

Actually manages to keep the creepy level turned up to the maximum dial. With different endings, and various choices you make branching off the storyline it's certainly an absorbing one. Only just finished chapter 1 and I can quite clearly see what I did wrong to end the chapter on such a less than happy way :p

A few annoyances... a Hotel Dusk system of having to examine items multiple times, and in specific orders led to a frustrating moment in the infirmary. Also the ending system reeks of repeating sections to get the best possible outcome (see above).

Interesting stuff. Only available on PSP download in the West, sadly. There is an iphone release only in Japan, and it seems perfect for such a device.

Just them, and 'recruitable' monsters. The cast from XIII do make cameos, though.

Which, of course, is all down to stunning art direction in Xenoblade's case.

Have now got back in to the swing of Blazblue (at least vs the computer). Had to stop playing because I was getting too angry when I lost!

Curse bloody V-13 in arcade mode.
