and i've had some expensive stuff come through that way, like K Missing Kings at 9000 yen and both the Persona3 movies.

See now you're just putting other things to buy in my head....I do want the Persona 3 movies, but one step at a time lol Probably more chance of not getting picked up if it's just Code Geass, and then I'll get Persona 3 movies after that.

Darker Than Black LE have arrive. As much I appreciate the novelty value of what Funimation have done with this, and it does look kind of smart on display, I can't help feeling they'd have been better off doing a tried and tested artbox release instead. The outer envelope is made of not particularly thick cardboard that time and the elements will not be kind to. Already it has a minor knock to the bottom corner (though the camera flash makes it look worse than it does to the naked eye, as well as making the envelope look more leathery-lavish than it actually is). The inner folder is also cardboard and not terribly impressive, but I do like the art book for its 40-odd full-page, A4-sized colour illustrations. None of that line art/storyboard rubbish.

Oh. That sucks to hear. I thought it would be in an artbox. Any chance of photos of the contents? (If you want to, of course. :p )
 
Received my Darker than Black Season 1 PE set today, i like the set but it's not really "Premium". Would have preferred more of a rigid box for the outside box as even wrapped in cardboard in the jiffy bag it still got dented in most corners. Not too pleased it doesn't have the name/logo on the spine. The way the discs are held isn't that good, when i opened it up disc 3 had fell out of the holder and gone under card (not the easiest get out of, could end up ripping the card if i put too much pressure trying to get it out). The only real good thing of this PE set are the artcards & artbook, they're pretty nice.

I have to agree, that packing may look nice but it seems a little impractical and quite easy to damage. I like that they included a stand though, that's a nice touch. Also, who is the girl with Hei on the top right art card? I don't remember her from the show.

My disc 3 was face down INSIDE disc 2's holder, on top of disc 2. How it got there will forever remain a mystery.

It's Hei's sister. She showed up late in the series, though I don't remember the exact circumstances.

Not keen on that style of disc holder - reminds me of what you get in deluxe editions of CD albums, and it's always hard to get the discs out without smearing them or bending the card.
 
That's some really awkward looking packaging. I'm not a fan of those kind of disc holders either. I think I'll have to pass on it. :(

@DragonBlaze. Sucks to hear that the edges were dented. I always hate when that happens to one of my orders.

As said above she's Hei's sister, from what i can remember he got his powers from her. How he got them from her i can't remember but that gives me an excuse to watch the series again once i pick up the Season 2 blu-ray :D

Hei gets his powers from his sister during the South American Heavens Gate incident. She fuses with him using molecular reconstruction (one of her abilities along with generating electricity). Amber mentions that Hei is not a actual contractor since BK-201 is the code for Hei's sister's star.
