Tokyo Ghoul art looks a lot better without the tacky running blood. If I get end up buying it, that plastic slipcover will be going straight in the bin (assuming the UK release will be the same of course).

Anime Limited have just stated on Facebook that they are aiming to have similar/identical packaging as the French version, except being in English obviously.

They have also stated what the on disc extras are.

Anyone think it would look better with the blood only coming down from the top? I think it's the fact it's going in both directions which makes it look weird / wrong to me. Also maybe if it was a little more irregular?

Obviously if AL have already had the slipcovers produced in anticipation of the UK release it's not likely to change now, but that's just my two penn'orth. Other than that it looks really nice.

Wow, that's gorgeous.I haven't seen the show but now I really want to. Too bad the blu rays are probably region locked knowing Sentai. I wish MVM would bring a set like this over.

The blurays should be geo locked, as such if you are able to change the country setting on your player to USA it will work. PS3s are set to USA as default.

I assume the PS4s are the same? Hmm. I might consider buying then. I'll have to see how much birthday money I have :p

That is correct, and if you want to save a bit of cash then use the US side of the united publications site even if your bank wants their pound of flesh for currency conversion charges since I'm only paying just under £80 for the persona 4 collectors edition (that was last week, but it'll still be below the £80 threshold as long as the currency rates don't drop like a stone between now and when it ships).

Oh blast, that No Game No Life set is tempting. I doubt I can justify getting it though and I'm already thinking of trying to be more ruthless with my purchasing. It's not like I really use special edition bonus stuff anyway (well, maybe soundtracks sometimes) but I still like to have them.

Man, that NGNL set does look good. Might still stick with MVM's release though because ???? ADV.

I agree with Fabby, the random blood on the slipcover just looks bad whichever way you slice it. Which is a shame, because I really like the mask/glasses additions to the character portraits.

I'll be the third person to say I don't like it. The blood at the top and bottom (particularly the bottom as blood running up just looks silly) ruin it for me, makes it look really tacky imo which is a shame as I also like the glasses/mask parts of it. My opinion doesn't really matter on this one though as I was never gonna buy it anyway (well, maybe in a good sale) but just throwing it out there anyway.

I still think that picture of Kaneki would work better for season 2, as he doesn't get that hair colour right until the end of the season and he's bat **** crazy in S2.

That NGNL CE does indeed look delicious although I am admittedly having second thoughts about purchasing it. I couldn't help but feel completely burned by the last two collectors editions when it came to the on disc content.
It's a massive shame since the product presentation for their CEs has been fantastic, however when the discs for your expensive sparkly collectors sets contain below average video encoding, a poor subtitling job and a dub that sounds worse than a fandub found on Youtube, then it becomes much harder to justify the price paid. Sentai were part way there with Sidonia, but that was due to a dub already existing.

I've no doubt there are people that sit there thinking "OH BOY, HERE WE GO AGAIN", but I only moan so much because I care. I'm don't really want to, but I'm seriously going to get to the point where I just stop buying their releases completely. I haven't even watched a good majority of Sentai BDs I've purchased - especially this year - due to the quality of them, and I have a much better experience watching a JP BDrip rather than the equivalent Sentai BD from my shelf.
I'm happy to pay Aniplex double the standard price for half the episodes as I know I'll get a quality product which I'll watch and keep, yet a £30-35 Sentai BD is increasingly becoming about as worthwhile as buying DVDs.
Worthless. #1stworldproblems
