It makes more sense when you think that there's a reasonable expectation that people buying the home video release in Japan will be familiar with the manga. I guess that's also possibly the case in France, but extravagantly less likely here.
 
I guess the blood at the bottom could be dripping down into a pool rather than dripping upwards. It also kind of looks more like a mouth, which is maybe the effect they were going for (though maybe that's stretching it).

That Vampire Hunter D cover art really is stunning. Never been the biggest fan of the film itself but I'd love for someone to pick that up for the UK

Really. It looks like the cover off a bad eighties soft metal album.
 
Hmmmm. The artwork looks nice, but I'm put off by the box with the extras.

When I bought the K-On! artbox from Madman, they used a similar box (no contents, though) and it left a little gap from the top. The side with the gap ended up a little dented when it arrived.
 
Some of the people over at the Bluray.com forums have received My Little Monster, Mahouka and SAO II Volume 1. Everything looks great as per usual, especially Mahouka which turned out far better than the packshot made it look due to the removal of the English text logo. I'm especially happy that Aniplex seems to have moved over to sturdier Blu-ray cases, re-usable plastic packing (which I really like and keep the sets in), as well as designing more visually appealing spines.
 
Nice cover for SNAFU, or Yahari or Oregairu or whatever you want to call it. Would love to see a Limited, Premium or Deluxe edition of this. Really enjoyed watching both seasons of this.

Still can't believe that's the final design for the English title. The font and sizing looks truly hideous.
