The Wildcard
Started Kara no Shoujo last night. I'm only a couple of hours into the game but already I'm intrigued by the murder-mystery plot and impressed by the detailed background art. I love the elegant character designs and subdued colour palette too.
What excite me most of all is the notebook, which contains profiles of every character you meet; clues picked up during the pont & click investigation sequences and from conversations; a map of the area of Tokyo where the game is set with selectable locales; and a detailed relationship chart. Kara no Shoujo is not just a visual novel.
So far I've not stumbled upon any problems with voice and font fan patches, so that's nice. No nookie yet, either, and at this point I actually would have preferred there not been any at all. I can see myself mindlessly clicking through the H scenes just to get back to the story.
