The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a thread)

Urgh, how frustrating. I wonder what on earth it could be.

I'm reminded of Battle Angel Alita, that had a city where the rich lived and no one was allowed up there, but the rest doesn't seem to fit

Something really old school perhaps?

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

I would go with Battle Angel. The boy would be Yugo who Alita wants to help go to Zalem (Tiphares in the manga). The man who attacks them is probably the bounty hunter Gime who is after Yugo (at this stage a wanted criminal). Also Gally (Alita in the manga) has marks on her cheeks.

I don't think it is Saikano since there is never any wish for the leading couple to go to a place in the sky. Also I think the weapons are guns not blades. Also Chise does not have any marks on her face.

Battle Angel Alita was my first thought too. The rich living in the city above rang a bell.

Is The Order A Rabbit?

Hi peeps,

I do seem to just pop up with requests for DVD release info, so sorry about that.. but.. does anyone have any info relating to any possible western DVD release dates for the 12 episode series "Is The a Order A Rabbit?", which I've recently enjoyed on a Crunchyroll?

It has to be said also that we've hit a point in the calendar for some really good looking, upcoming DVDs - From The New World, Psycho Pass, GITS: Arise..

Peace *^^*

Re: Is The Order A Rabbit?

Sentai Filmworks has the license in North America, with no release date planned. It probably won't be released in any other English language territories, because these things never are.

The Japanese volume releases don't finish until the end of November, though.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

That's cool.. Importing from the USA isn't a problem. Thanks for the heads up.. Presumably it will see the light of day at some point. Thanks :)

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Anyone own or have any pictures of the Australian Haruhi suzumiya season 1 slimpack release?

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Yikes,
Guess I'll wait for Amazon or Base to list it then (hopefully at a reasonable price like AoL has).

The few times I've looked at AoL they are always more expensive than Amazon. Granted I've not checked recently, what with Amazon seemingly not discounting as much as they used to.

No way does AOL do that! :O

I want Haruhi Season 1! I see Season 2 is still around, what happened to 1?

Season 1 was a Beez license in the UK, and with them closing down in late 2011 the series has been out of print for a couple of years. The situation wasn't helped by one of the warehouses their stock was kept in being burnt down shortly before they ceased operations, which obviously reduced the amount of stock there was to go around.

However, Funimation has just rescued the license for both seasons 1 and 2 in the US, so the chances of seeing a re-release of season 1 over here are probably the best they've been in a while!

I got the impression it was the other way around, that they ceased operations because of the fire destroying most of the stock?
As far as I know, Beez shut up shop due to their parent company Bandai Visual pulling out of the western anime market. The warehouse fire was just an unfortunate coincidence that meant there was a lot less Beez stock available to buy for the last few months of their existence.

That's my understanding aswell, they just couldn't operate without the US arm.

Never really occurred to me but I guess Haruhi S1 was caught in that fire too :(

What's worse is that Manga said the license for S1 is beyond help (something similar) but with Funimation now rescuing nearly the entire franchise (the movie wasn't included) there's a possible chance that Manga could simply just sub-license Season 1 from them instead of Kadokawa (I'm assuming they have done this with a couple of titles).

Beez (which covered Europe, not just the UK) was independent of Bandai Entertainment in the US, both of which being part of the Bandai Namco group. Japan pulled out of both regions, closing both companies in the process.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Thanks for letting me know! Hopefully I can add it to my to buy list one day :)

Whats that Chibi series of it about?

Does anyone know anything, anything at all about the Persona 3 films please? Like there's more than one right? Will they ever get an English dub?
