The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a thread)

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Can someone please tell me if the Durarara regular edition from Anime Limited will include the 24 epsiodes + 2 OVAs like the limited edition?

Will the regular edition only be DVD or also Bluray?

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

The regular editions will use the same disks as the limited editions so yes, it'll have 24 episodes & the two OVAs

There should eventually be separate regular editions for both formats.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

This is something I've always wondered, why is that roughly 90% of anime's that have dubs, don't get correct subtitles? I prefer to watch in dub, and most of the time, prefer to also have the subtitles on. Mostly all of my collection though have subtitles which I can only assume are for the Japanese track. This means that the subtitles are usually completely different to what the character is saying in the dub (understandably).

tl;dr, why don't anime's get subtitles for the english dub AND japanese (dub?)?

FUNimation actually used to always include a subtitle track and a SDH track for people who wanted to watch the dub with matching subtitles too. The result was endless rivers of tears from fans who couldn't figure out that they had to choose the right option for the menu or toggle to the right option manually. They assumed FUNimation was 'dubtitling' everything instead of including an accurate translation and there was a lot of complaining.

You do see discs with both tracks occasionally but it's way less common nowadays. Blame silly people.

I guess the logic is that people who need the dubtitles most probably won't notice the difference between the spoken word and the text as much as people who can easily follow the English audio, so they get to save a little money and avoid complaints from people who jump to conclusions.

Great. Thanks for the info.

Then I have another question about the Paranoia Agent reissue DVD collection.

Is it uncut now?

According to BBFC it does appear to be uncut.

Unfortunately that's not the case. That rating was for the removal of the scene (notice the times are different - 73m 41s instead of 75m 26s).

Thaks for the info.

That realy sucks. I realy want Paranoia Agent for my collection, but no way do I want anything edited.

That's stupid and annoying. Stupidity of the masses wins out again. Cheers for the answer though.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

What is the chronology of the Bakemonogatari series, it's just that every part seems to have a different name, what order do they go in as far as watching is concerned?

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

Has anyone listened to Manga's latest podcast?

I tried to but Firefox is blocking the page, and listing an armful of trojans as the reason why!

They should be watched in order of TV airing/home video release, though that isn't necessarily their chronological order.

Behold

JPT: Yeah, I'm getting the same thing when I try to d/l the podcast on Firefox.

Thank you for that.

Question to those who have the Funi AOT Limited Editions.

Just so I'm 100% sure, this part 1 (https://www.up1.co.uk/Details/G2104-Att ... DVDBlu-ray) will fit into this version of part 2 (https://www.up1.co.uk/Details/A1984-Att ... y+++Artbox) ?

Ta :)

Yep, it all fits together and looks very solid indeed. The LEs are a bit floppy on their own (like the old Beez digipaks) so having the artbox to keep them together works a treat.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

This is a question I remember Manga talking about in one of their podcasts once - but does anyone on here buy DVD editions of shows instead of the Blu-Rays, even if they have a Blu Ray player, because of the lower price? I imagine it's pretty uncommon on here - but would be interested to know if anyone's done it on a show they were only casually into.

Nope.

Re: The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a threa

I probably would, especially if the Bluray was an upscale from an SD show. It would depend on how much I liked the show and the costs as well.
