The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a thread)

If I had been as active from my very first post as I have been the last six months I'd still be nowhere near the post table (I'd have roughly 3,500).
I'm just under 100 likes off the bottom of that table, so I guess it only started just before I started posting again.

Ha, well I've got a long way to go as a noob on this forum, but over on the BD.com anime forum I have almost 17,000 posts between the two usernames I've posted under on there. At one point I switched to a new account to have an anime-centric username - the one I'm using here as well - but forfeited a 10,000 post-count I had with my old user account... :(

Ah well, post count doesn't mean much to me anyway - I just want to stay active on the forums and keep posting! And, get rid of this Completely Average High School Student title... just a few more posts.... :D

I pretty much lurk over here, but on another anime forum I managed to rack up about 68,000 in about 3 years of being active. I haven't been involved heavily for 6 years and am still in there top 20.

Thinking about this Likes thing... I remember when I first broke into the top 20 Most Likes here. That was a big deal for me!

I remember back in the early days of my AUKN membership, looking at the zero of my Likes counter on the forum main page and thinking *sigh* "That'll never change." :(

It was @Jaysgba who was the kind soul who gave me my first Like. (My first four, I think, actually.) Heartfelt thanks to our resident Your Name fan! :)

Is there any good collective name for stuff that is in a simple Amaray/Elite/whatever case? I mean, If I say "standard blu-ray amaray case" usually anybody has a decent idea, that it's that usual simple thing, it's just more often than not I realized those cases to actually be Elite cases.

I just call them amarays, like "hoover" or "tipp-ex" - It might not be accurate but it's a brand that's become synonymous with the product. Example:

So I'm a bit late to the party here, but did Manga seriously release the first two Madoka movies in a nice rigid box that fits only those two movies and then the third on its own in a standard amaray? Is that genuinely a thing that happened?

yes funnily enough was looking at this the other day thought it was a mistake buy nope they went and did it

I call them keepcases. And I will bitch if someone refers to an Elite or Scanavo blu-ray keepcase as an Amaray. Some crimes deserve capital punishment

I once needed to empty cases to replace some damaged ones and wrote a query "need some 2-disc amaray cases" and then somebody messaged me like "Do they really have to be from amaray?"
I actually didn't know it was a brand back then, that was kind of embrassing. The proper missing name for it has ever bigged me since. But now that I think about it, plain BD cases does the job just fine, indeed.

Although the Japanese actually did the same. Movie 1-2 were release in a double pack in it's own box (with holes) too afair and Rebellion was its own big thick thingy. But I think there was some special rigid box, which was limited to some chain, that had space for you to put the movie 1-2 box and rebellion into it.
But at any rate the most pointless thing for the Japanase about getting the recap movies atope the Rebellion LEs might as well be the fact, that Rebellion has an extra disc featuring a 2 hour recap of the recap. (Which for all ends and purposes looks like it includes all the new scenes. Though admittedly I think it had no subs.)

Is there any decent blu ray release of Mekakushi City Actors out there? (As long as the japanese audio is there it's fine, I don't necessarily require subs.) Aniplex USA is probably still sitting on the licence doing nothing it appears and the Japanese one are these weird CD-sized things in rather spartan package. Only other thing I saw is the AU DVD, but that's DVD and having this huge rating logo...
