I think they mean scenes where rape is eroticised. If the viewer is aroused by it, basically. A load of balls but this is the BBFC we're talking about.
I'd love to know how they determined that... Oh wait, Helen McCarthy just helpfully drew my attention to this link. So it turns out the people who informed this study were a section of the uninformed public who think things should be banned because they don't like them. Wonderful.

Thinking of things - folks may want to keep an eye on things in the next week.

As you know I'm a consultant so not 100% attached to any company and as such I have something pretty awesome on the go just now off my own back so watch this space...*

For those interested. Crunchyroll is now finally available on Xbox Live in all regions bar Japan, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. So yes, we do have it. The downside? You probably guessed it, but you need to have a Gold membership otherwise you can't use the thing. Microsoft trolling hard once more. Typical.

Link to their announcement: http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2 ... -xbox-live

Still free with the PS3, mind. All you need is an account set to the US and that's not that hard.

True enough. And you only need the US account to download it, after that you can access it with any. The main issue i find is that people who have 360s only/instead will probably be annoyed that they can't access it without Gold. the bane of the 360. Sure they still will have the PC to watch it on, but other options are nice.

Come on Crunchyroll, release a Wii U app. Sure, I'm getting a PS3 for Christmas and can easily use CR on that...Wii U GamePad streaming would be cool.

Elfen Lied info has been updated, sadly just the usual 13 episodes over 3/4 disks....no OAV :/

Unfortunately, I saw the OVA as merely a pipe dream that I would have loved to come true. As much as I hoped it would be there, I never really believed it would be.

I hope the rerelease goes well for 101 Films, because I now have no incentive to buy it.

Really, Gold is one of those things that Microsoft thinks makes them mad cash (and I would bet it does see them a pretty penny) but ultimately scares people away from it.

FUNimation will be releasing Shakugan no Shana III -FINAL- in 2 parts on 26th March (like with season 2, both parts are out on the same day). Here's the boxart:

Part 2 is kinda spoilery, so I'll leave it here

Really, if Sony hadn't bollocked the launch up (£400+ is not a launch price) they would have had the market over here.

I doubt that would of made much difference, I was barely aware my PS3 also did Blu Ray when I bought it a year after launch and I went for PS3 becuase i'd had a PS2 and PS1. Friends of mine that were Xbox picked up an Xbox 360. The added function of BR would only of swung a small minority who were not commited to a particular console.

Likewise BR players have dropped considerably in price and more and more people have replaced their CRT TV's with HD Ready/Full HD Sets.

It seems to me that BR is only just now taking off as a whole, let alone in our niche market.
