The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

I vaguely recall ordering from Rarewaves some time ago, assuming it's the same company I think they send things in a similar way to AllYourMusic and MovieMars (that is, they tend to send it from a warehouse within the EU). I guess you couldn't rely on that though, it'll be interesting to see.

I might put in an order myself at those prices, would have to carefully decide what to go for though.
 
The only thing I'm worried about that's preventing me from ordering more are the titles of the products. Like how the Elfen Lied one says DVD France when it's listed and pictured as the US Blu Ray. HOTD says the same. Makes me wonder if the pictures are incorrect and I'll just receive some French DVD which is no good to me and I imagine trying to sort out a refund or something would be a nightmare on a site where the Customer Support staff probably don't speak English.

Edit: Ah, what the hell, I ordered Elfen Lied. I'd end up kicking myself if I didn't and all this stuff is legit.
 
It's a US marketplace seller - I'd be surprised if they spoke Italian.

I look at it from the perspective of why would a US marketplace seller be selling a load of french / german DVD's along with shipping them from the US when they also have the US versions of those same disks in other Amazon locales... Plus products are normally sold by barcode / EAN and these have the same ones listed as the US ones.

But you are right - to an extent it is a calculated risk-

Does the benefit in obtaining these products at these prices outweigh the risk of spending on a product that isn't what you want if that scenario plays out. Personally I'm a lot more worried about them saying sorry - it was a pricing error - you can't have them than them being the wrong thing - but in that scenario we'll probably get our money back...
 
I've only ever been screwed by the Amazon Marketplace once and I had to contact Amazon directly to get a refund. Although that's because the seller was being completely unresponsive. Also, you're right, it would be weird if someone in the US was selling French DVDs under the guise of US Blu Rays, and the guy has about 96% positive feedback but I'm still a little put off. When something is too good to be true, it normally is. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out. It says they will ship either tomorrow or Tuesday so we'll know if the prices are right by then.
 
Plus if you look at the audio and subtitle specs they listed the same options that the US products have like English and Japanese audio, English subtitles etc.

To be honest in terms of the pricing, they were also selling other anime titles for like 110 euros for flip sake.

However, I had expected one of the first things to happen when they were "back in the office on Monday" would be that the prices would return to normal. So far, no sign of that. In fact it looks like there have even been a few more drops. For example DBZ Kai Seson two which I don't recall being on there earlier...;

Haha cheers but I would prefer to have a complete set. I'll change my mind depending on how my first batch of anime is handled.

Are there any differences? Authoring-wise I mean, any fixes or something? Two sets means more art and more bloat on my shelves, I like that :thumb:

Only ordered HOTD, Elfen Lied and Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 so far but I want more...

The discs are the same, I figured I could do with less space on the shelf but if the original sets are still available then I'm up for it (the original sets are Region B, well the newer stock is). The complete set has reversible art with each side based on memories or melodies.

Right I checked my bank balance and I can confirm that I've being charged the same as what the prices were on .it.

Highschool of the Dead CE - £19.81
Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar Part 2 - £11.18
Elfen Lied - £9.76
(*all orders are separate*)

So now it's the waiting game.

Well my criteria for selection was pretty wide;

1) Is it Anime?
2) Is it on Blu-Ray
3) Is it something you don't have?
4) Is it something there isn't a better version of - e.g. a LE?

In related but non-anime news Star Wars 6 film collection for EUR 21.90 by this same seller seems like a bargain...
