Summer 2015 Legal Anime Streaming Thread

From the looks of things, the dub is locked but the sub is avaiable which is fine becuase the dub is avaiable via Netflix.

When I first posted that message the subtitled version was locked too, and two region lock messages were displayed, one has since gone and the content is now available. Looks like CR had it configured wrong for a while.

Which to be fair has happened before, back when it was streaming the older anime from before, ANN had their regions mixed up, allowing us plebian UK types to watch Captain Harlock for all of five seconds.

What confuses me is apparently 2wei Hertz is based on the second half of the 2wei manga. So if a fourth season happens it would be called Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 3wei.
3rei in fact (from the german drei, as 2wei is a corruption of zwei)
Why it isn't dr3i, I'll never know.

MyAnimeList.net has partnered with ACJ (the people who run Daisuki) to start streaming shows on their site. GOD EATER and Idol Master Cinderella Girls launch Friday, with more apparently coming soon...

I can't imagine Daisuki's management team are too impressed having their big worldwide exclusive just handed to another site. I'm guessing if they aren't using Daisuki's infrastructure, they'll probably get more viewers for it too.

I presume it's going to be similar to Anime Planet's partnership with Crunchyroll, where the videos can be played on the AP site but the video type is from Crunchyroll. The reason I reference that is because the article mentioned about embedding or something.

The press release says "ACJ plans to increase the number of titles accessible through MyAnimeList as embedded video or hyperlinks", which sounds like the plan is to more closely integrate with MAL, but doesn't neccesarily mean they're using Daisuki's player.

NEW ADDITION [CATALOG!]:

Murder Princess - 6 OVA episodes with original Japanese audio
Site: Viewster

Reborn! (Season 8] - episodes 178-189 with original Japanese audio

Wolf's Rain - 26 episodes plus 4 OVAs with original Japanese audio

Been wanting to watch Strawberry Panic for a bit, good to see it available to stream.

Does anyone know if School Live is not airing this week or something? In my Crunchyroll queue it hasn't changed over to a timer for the next episode despite the fact that it should be available in an hour when other shows get a timer days away.

Edit: Nevermind, it's there. Weird how there wasn't a countdown though.

AL just announced Gangsta and Chaos Dragon are going to be streaming on Viewster.

Viewster will also be doing the latest episodes of Fairy Tail according to their blog.

I'm questioning on why they chose Chaos Dragon.

As for Fairy Tail, I'm happy that Viewster is streaming it but why only the latest episodes? How about the first series (i.e. 175 episodes), that would have been a good inclusion to their catalogue since it's pretty much not available to us.

Also - the first two episodes of Castle Town Dandelion is now up on Viewster

Package deal maybe? I find it odd too, I'd have presumed they'd pick up the likes of Snow White with the Red Hair, Prison School, Ranpo Kitan or Overlord over Chaos Dragon.

That's great news about Gansta - I hope they can stick to the schedule though. And Chaos Dragon feels like a show that's been mentioned a fair bit even if it isn't that great.

Well with regards to Prison School, didn't they say at the recent MCM Comic Con London that the show was too risky for the BBFC?

I don't think it's a package deal. Gangsta is from Bandai Visual while Chaos Dragon is from Silver Link & Connect. Besides apparently they picked Chaos Dragon as they like table top games.

Viewster said there's more to come so I wonder what else they have to offer. They really have impressed me in the past few months because it's just not expected.

Shoot, you're right about Prison School.

Oh, okay yeah..different companies! that makes sense, doh. I'm somewhat anxious for A/L with Chaos Dragon though, it's not going down well online but the show IS full of edge and edge appeals to the masses.

The way Viewster have delayed their announcement and are still saying that more titles are coming, makes me wonder if they've tried to get something big and have ended up in protracted negotiations whilst trying to sort it out.

I've no idea what it could be though, maybe it's related to their acquisition of Fairy Tale, which seems a little bit weird. All of their other shows, come from their Aniplex and Anime Limited deals, just seems a bit weird that they'd go after shared rights to a long running title, with no back catalogue, from a company they seem not to have many simulcast dealings with, for only two countries. Maybe it came with Gintama, but it still seems a little weird...
