Sort of surprising. I love the show but I already bought it more than once, so they're going to have to do something incredible to persuade me to take an interest again >_>

So far this is the latest info:
Nozomi PR said:
The latest acquisition from Nozomi Entertainment is Magic User’s Club. Beginning as a 6-episode OVA in 1996, the series tells the story of robotic alien invaders and a group of teenage witches that rise up to defend Earth. The OVA was followed by a 13-episode TV series in 1999.

Magic User’s Club will be released in its entirety in the spring of 2016 with English and Japanese audio, English subtitles, and English on-screen translations.

First, Funimation let us know this week that the Nobunagun Collection DVD/BD Combo Set (Limited Edition) is now sold out at wholesale so whatever we have left in our warehouse is it. I've been seeing a lot of this from Funimation recently, and I'll try to pass them on whenever I can get an official confirmation.
How in the flying **** did the Nobunagun LE sell out for Funimation, I thought everyone hated that show?

Judging from RightStuf's Shawne Kleckner's recent appearance on ANNCast, there's a not inconsiderable number of people who will buy something just because it has "collector's" on it, or who will just buy anything and everything.

I've not heard of it before myself but I like the look of it going by that poster.
It's a mid to late 90s series (96-97 for the OVA and mid to late 1999 for the TV series), and it was all originally licensed by media blasters and vanished a few years back (or even longer ago) which could explain why you don't know anything about it.

Also it looks like anyone outside the US won't be able to get the Sailor moon R set 2 replacements disc (or discs if you have the combo set) since everything is done by WB and you have to call them to get the replacements (it looks like I'll have to fire off an email to UP1USA to see if they're going to be getting the replacements for their customers).

It's been a while since I watched Magic User's Club but I do remember enjoying it. On the downside, I do already have it on DVD so I don't think it's likely I'd be picking up a new release.

I remember reading some good things about Nobunagun, particularly it having a good protagonist and maybe some interesting art effects. I think it came out during one of the recent spikes of Nobunaga related shows, with many of those being less well regarded (I think Nobunaga the Fool would have been about the same time, at least).

Hang on a minute -- $63 for an artbox and some art cards. There has to be something more in that Terror in Resonance boxset right?

Edit: Christ, the SE is stupidly expensive too. You might as well buy the LE, considering it's only ~$15 more expensive. The Canadian prices seem more reasonable though.

That Noein trailer looked higher definition on the Danganronpa DVD than it did on that so-called HD stream!

Feel your pain on that one. The asking price for that is so disproportionately high that the show's been wiped off my shopping list. It's fairly and squarely in the 'this isn't worth it' zone.

To be fair, the Canadian prices are the same but in CAD, and it comes to a more reasonable £26. But I wouldn't buy the US version anyway, I've spent too much money this month :(

NIS America have announced new details and release schedules for Love Live! School Idol Project's two seasons.
How the shizzle did I miss this. Shows how out of the loop I've been.
Love Live has become my guilty pleasure so I'll be buying these 110%. I still need to buy the first season LE so I'll send UP1 an email about it.
I'll probably end up with S1 LE, S1 RE (For dub discs), S2 LE, JP Movie LE BD and NISA Movie BD...

LOVE LAIFU IDOL WAIFU

Bad news, Ponycan USA will not be releasing a standard edition for Rokka -Braves of the Six Flowers-. The reason is because they are focusing on the Collector's Edition only.

This result has just ruined their reputation even further. I can't see this company lasting another year.

Presumably they're hoping people will upgrade to their collector's editions. When the show did that badly, they should probably have been thankful for whatever money they could scrape from it...

Ponycan are really making AoA look good with their continued incompetence. I'm in their exact target market (except for the whole having to grey import due to being foreign thing) yet I have only bought one of their titles. And I was disappointed by it.

The thing that baffles me is that when they announced they were doing standard editions everyone seemed happy with that idea and were willing to spend an intermediate amount on a standard edition. What do they stand to gain by killing off the SE? I cant seem them making more money from it, I can't seem them gaining any respect from it, so really the only thing they've gained is distrust, annoyance and maybe a small amount of time.

It sounds like maybe this baffling decision has been forced on them by Japan or something (who according to the recent RightStuf ANNCast are fans of collector's editions, because they feel the Western market gets stuff far too cheaply), because it makes no sense.

I am curious to know how much money PonyCan sunk into this series, because they sure as hell seem really really keen to promote it.

The standard edition was still pretty expensive too. Even if I loved rokka I would never pay £200 for the entire thing, especially when we don't know at this point if they are going to fix the animation errors.
