UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

If we talk about wanted home video releases:

Is there any chance that March Comes in Like a Lion part 3 and 4 will ever get released? The Aniplex of America version is out of print, which means that nowadays you have to pay £1500 just for part 4... In the past (when the first 2 parts were released) the other parts were teased to be released 'in the future', but nothing has happened so far.

Would be nice to get season two widely available again. I've decided to start collecting the manga in English as a kind of substitute, which is being released by Denpa.

Got my A Place Further Than the Universe replacement disc sorted, it'll be sent out within the coming days. I've been holding off on watching it so I look forward to finally being able to.

Managed to get mine sorted the other day as well (finally). Looks like they're just shipping out standard editions for those that ask, which have the corrected discs (including the disc label now showing the correct episode numbers, in addition to the missing dub audio).

Welp, I pre-ordered this and haven't unwrapped mine yet. What was the issue with the original sets they released if you don't mind me asking?

In the dub, there's a scene where around 3 seconds of a background character talking is missing the audio. Additionally, disc 1 is mislabelled in terms of the episode numbers.
Awesome, thanks for the info. Guess I'll start by emailing AL as well then.

I wish they would just send replacements out automatically, as one may be none the wiser if not on the ball... Then again, MVM were fantastic when I needed my first disc for the Air dvd replaced after realising the major flaw years after I bought it!

I personally believe this kind of thing should be automatic they know who ordered it it’s not something to place on the customer
If it was automatic there would need to be a way to opt out of it. For example, I don't watch anime dubbed and can live with a small label misprint, so I don't need a replacement in this case. Having to pay customs fees for something I don't need and didn't ask for doesn't exactly sound exciting to me. And if it's returned to AL it'll just have been a waste of resources to even send it in the first place.

I think APFTTU wasn't an 'official' replacement scheme because the issue was minor compared to issues where they chose to do an official replacement scheme (e.g., inaccessible episode on Nadia UE or missing subtitles from an entire episode in the case of Kids on the Slope, as examples).

3 seconds of missing dub audio and a mislabelled disc 1 was likely not seen as significant enough to warrant an official replacement scheme (which would cost Anime Limited money sending out free standard editions or sourcing replacement discs for every CE order). Instead, if it's important to the viewer, they can request a replacement 'quietly' and those who don't care won't bother; saving them money in the long run. So I understand why they have done it this way from a business standpoint.

However, it doesn't exactly reflect well on the company in my view. On a collector's edition from a boutique label I would expect audio tracks to be complete and for discs to be labelled correctly; it's a collector's item after all and while only small errors, it doesn't exactly scream premium or quality. If errors are to occur (and they will from time to time), and even if those errors are small, a company that cares (or at least wants to appear they care), would be out relatively quickly with official communication on the matter (see Second Sight and the Blair Witch Project replacement scheme, due to an audio track being presented in dual mono instead of stereo).

Props to AL for eventually doing replacements, but communication was poor and it could have been handled in a better way in my opinion.

Anime-on-line.com has solicited 4 AL standards (and a steelbook).

Onyx Equinox (A CR produced Cartoon)
Pet
Armor Shop for Ladies & Gentlemen
(A Series of 4 minute shorts, though the second season has longer episodes, unclear what is included)
City Hunter: Angel Dust (standard & Steelbook options, no EN dub produced for this film, as predicted by the other Plaion releases, unlike its Discotek released predecessor)

Apologies if this has already been talked about, but do we know when Baki season 1 preorders are likely to be posted? Had to double check the release date which was the 10th - had it preordered for a few weeks but no movement as yet.
