And pricing wise makes the AL store box set look even worse value, £25(£35 now that the EB is gone) extra for an art box and a very small booklet.

Hard to imagine that just 10 years ago Funimation used to charge only $4 more for a chipboard box in a Limited Edition release over the price of the standard release here in the US - $38.99 for the Standard, and $42.99 for the Limited Edition box set.
 
I'll probably buy the 4K singles at some point and put them in my original Movies box. It's not like the box has anything on it other than the series logo and some artwork, so that'll be a good work around as I just couldn't justify the 4K box at the moment...

For those interested in comparison:
In Germany "peppermint anime" offers chipboard boxes as shop-exclusive addon for most new titles, currently priced €12.90 for EB or €14.90 later - however they only produce an amount slightly higher than the EB pre-orders, so they usually sell out before any discounts (other than EB) are offered for the series itself.

Other German companies charge like €5 extra on the "usual" price for Vol. 1 + chipboard box, compared to other releases, but all customers are "forced" to buy the version with chipboard box as a boxless version won't be released before the other is at least "low stock", which can take "forever" for some titles.
 
It's heartbreaking how AL won't be able to release Gundam The Witch from Mercury due to Crunchyroll 💔 AL would have given it such a beautiful Collector's Edition release since all their previous Gundam Collector's Editions have been gorgeous. F*ck Crunchyroll.

Out soonish, and with those discs, you can expect it over here.

however, a quick look at specs on the product page (at the moment, the CR Store and Shout site mention it for the time being) and would suggest its just Japanese with English subs, the English dub, which featured the cast of the much liked Stand Alone Complex dub, is not present. Hopefully that is an error, if it isn't though, that is pretty underwhelming.

Hopefully details are properly announced soon, so its all clarified.

Oh, that's a surprise, wasn't expecting a release of this.

Yet to watch any of the S.A.C. series, only ever seen the original two movies, should really make a start. I'll likely get this though.
 
Has anyone received a marketing email from ATA in the past two weeks? I haven't.

I dropped off their mailing list a couple of months ago. Initially they seemed to not believe their was a problem - but then, they resubscribed me and it worked. Wondering if i need to contact them again, or if they've genuinely just not sent any marketing stuff recently.

Seems weird if they haven't, because there's been multiple new products on their site since the last email I received.
