Since Concrete Revolutio is coming to Daisuki, what are the odds that it's going to be another Aniplex of America acquisition (thus making it their second non-Aniplex title)? Both this and God Eater are from Bandai Visual and are pretty much exclusive to Daisuki.

Could be part of a package deal.

Do we know if Aniplex of America is managing all English-language and American rights to God Eater, like they do for Aniplex shows? Or just the US?

Aniplex of America generally manage USA & Canada but when it comes to streaming it's pretty much all English language territories (unless someone buys the rights to a particular zone like KAZE have done for Mekakucity Actors, Nisekoi and World Conquest Zvezda Plot for Europe).

Anime Ltd. confirmed that Aniplex of America is responsible for managing all English-language rights to all of Aniplex's titles, whilst Aniplex JP handles most other rights, which is why @Anime were able to release Sword Art Online II in 2 parts, but they (Anime Ltd.) had to go for 4.

I was wondering if Aniplex of America had brought a package deal for God Eater for all English-language rights and were planning on sub-licensing it out.

Re: Anime Expo 2015 News Thread

I'm betting there'll be some Gundam stuff announced from Nozomi.

I can feel it in my bones!

Re: Anime Expo 2015 News Thread

I'm still really kinda irked by the Tokypop announcements - it shouldn't really bother me, but I just find the whole ethic behind what they seem to want to do now really distasteful, there was massive outcry on Twitter about their past antics too.

Re: Anime Expo 2015 News Thread

I love how everyone looks bored stiff on that stream. Then again I would be pretty unenthusiastic if I had to watch the trailers they were showing.
That said, I love how everyone came alive when they played the Euphonium trailer.

Jesus Christ the Q&A is incredibly cringe worthy to listen to/watch...

Well, their comment about finding little known gems has been widely interpreted as them having pissed off all the major players, and Steven Cummings (American comic book author, living in Japan, currently has a series published by Image) tweeted "there are even hard feelings over here. That is what surprises me the most."

My guess is the company's relaunch will fail spectacularly. I wasn't familiar with the matter before, but what surprises me most is how obvious their attempts to screw people over were, at least DC and Marvel were creative about how they did it*...

*There's a bit of an infamous story about how DC gave Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons a contract whereby the rights to Watchmen would return to them one year after it first went out of print. Watchmen is so popular, it's never been out of print, hence 28 years later DC still owns all the rights, whereas normally they'd have probably returned back to Moore and Gibbons years ago.

Re: Anime Expo 2015 News Thread

No dub for Euphonium? That kinda sucks.

Also, was Etotama even well received enough to get the deluxe PonyCan treatment? Seemed like barely anyone talked about it this season just passed.

Did they mention anything else about Euphonium? Like when a physical release might be available?

I missed the earlier part but checked on Fandom Post in cased I missed anything important. Only Etotama Volume 1 was confirmed for physical release so far.

Far too early for that. Volume 1 only came out a week or two ago, and there will be seven in total. Their release schedule seems to be something like first JP vol + 4-6 months for US part 1.

This is the most important announcement for me. So glad it's happening!

Re: Anime Expo 2015 News Thread

I still REALLY need to get around to playing VLR and 999. It's just a pain as I'd have to import both as 999 had no EU release and the VLR EU release didn't have English voice acting.

It's particularly bad with VLR because the text reflects the English dialogue, so there are times when what you hear and what you read are so obviously different. If I ever get a Vita, I'll import VLR to replay with the English voices.

Definitely worth it though, two absolutely amazing games. Third party sellers are selling 999 on Amazon and shipping from the UK, so I'd go for that.
