I'm not in any rush to buy it though. I don't need to hear "ka, ka" another 1000 times.

HOLY CRABSTICKS WITH SWEET POTATO SALAD!!!

Didn't I say there'd be Gundam?

And lo, the Gundam did come to pass, and it was voluminous in its abundance!

Feck. I imported the DVD's earlier this year thinking it'd never get the Blu Ray release outside Japan.

Double Dip time..

Re: Anime Expo 2015 News Thread

I so want Original Gundam on Blu-Ray, but I need AL to announce soon what their plans are. I'm prepared to give AL lots of money for Blu-Ray of most/all Gundam titles.

Yeah. I'll probably get the Novels and read them as they come out, but I'll probably wait to get the whole anime before watching. Considering it's Sentai, the release will probably be similar to Space Brothers (12 episodes per BD = £20-30).

I was planning on getting the DVDs, but I opted against it. Lucky me, but the DVD set is pretty. :)

Re: Anime Expo 2015 News Thread

Original Gundam? Utena? I'll take those - or their UK equivalents! There's been some fantastic announcements so far. All it needs now is Evangelion and some World Masterpiece Theatre

Same. I recall Andrew saying not to import them too soon, so I'm hoping they'll be releasing them sometime soon. 079 is just so good. I want it ASAP.

Re: Anime Expo 2015 News Thread

Holy Christ, Utena and Gundam BluRays?! Sign me up for some of that goodness!

Quite an amazing haul of Gundam licences, but will all the others be on BD too? I certainly hope so.

And will I have to fork out for either import taxes (or a trip to the US, which frankly might work out cheaper) to buy them, or will someone scoop these up for us here in the UK? Not that I'm looking intently in the direction of Anime Ltd. or anything.

AL said on the last podcast that both Gundam The Origin II and something else Gundam was coming. They didn't give any clues as to what though...

Damn it. I hope the talks are productive. I coped with the DVDs but once I heard the original songs I realized what I'd been missing, they're so much better than the replacements. I would hope that for an HD version Zeta could be released in its original bloody form, all these separate rights and licensing issues seem like a complete nightmare to have to deal with.

Re: Anime Expo 2015 News Thread

Funimation are having way too much fun with their panel. The main two people on stage are actually pretty entertaining to listen to and the audience actually seems pretty engaged.

Re: Anime Expo 2015 News Thread

I just orgasmed reading Gundam on blu-ray....now just need AL to say they'll be releasing it as i would rather give them my money.

Also looking forward to Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

Nothing remotely surprising there - as I understand it, that episode is omitted at Tomino's personal request. Having sat through Bandai Visual's last-gasp DVD release of the show, I can confidently say that nobody's really missing anything for its absence.

As for comments about nobody wanting Macross in the West? Utter crap. And I'm quite apalled - though not surprised - that Harmony Gold are resorting to 'you want this because we tell you so' tactics.

I think it's safe to say that there's probably more demand for the likes of Macross Frontier, Zero and the original series than there is for endless repackagings of Robotech and its shoddy (and infrequent) follow up movies. I seem to recall ADV already doing something to prove that point Stateside.
