I've been pretty busy but I may as well post my current thoughts on what i've been watching:
Persona 4 the Animation episodes 1-10
As a big fan of the Persona 4 game, I'm quite surprised that some people don't really like the anime, because I really am enjoying this, sure the pacing at the start felt rushed but as episodes progressed it started to get better and better.
It's mostly thanks to how the director has approched the main character Yuu Narukami, sure he can be emotionless but it's been used for comedic affect and his lines can be hilarious. My feelings on the other characters still remain very likeable.
The Kanji arc still remains my favorite out of the bunch, while others have great fight sequences.
So coming up to the half way point, i'm still very positive on Persona 4: The Animation.
Ben-To episodes 1-10
I was looking forward to this new David Production project and it's certainly been a blast so far, one of the best guilty pleasures of the season.
To take a simple premise of students fighting for Ben-to and add some fantastic fight animation and fun characters, it makes me want to check it out every week.
Sadly episodes 8 & 9 were more disapponting than entertaining but episode 10 is a return to form and hopefully the last episodes can build on that.
Sure it's not afraid to show fan-service and can be dumb but I can't deny how much fun it's made my Sunday mornings.
Fate/Zero episodes 2-11
I wanted to watch Fate/Stay Night before watching this and comparing both that to Fate/Zero, you can see why it was made my ufotable instead of DEEN.
Fate/Zero's production is incredible for starters, a lot of attention was put into character design and backgrounds and I don't blame ufotable at all for taking a season break so they can keep it up.
It also feels very intelligent when characters are talking about various topics, like character motivations or on the topic of the Holy Grail, it always feels interesting, like Madoka Magica; Gen Urobuchi has really made an impact in 2011 for his phenomenal writing.
Only nitpick as we come to the half way mark, is that some characters aren't explored as much but this issue might go away in the next season.
So far, Fate/Zero has been awesome and it's obvious that i'll be watching the 2nd half in the Spring season.
Mashiroiro Symphony: The Color of Lovers episodes 1-10
Harem anime has been very disappointing this year, We Without Wings being awful and A Bridge to the Starry Skies being very below average, is this a better effort, well yes it is.
Not that it's brillant by any means but it has things that I like about it, one thing being that it's very light-hearted and the group of main characters always work together and it makes them a likeable bunch.
The love interest has become less predictable and episode 10 has proven that, which again gives me a reason to intrigue me even more.
It does get a bit bland at times though and some characters seem to be cardboard cut-outs but I can say that Mashiroiro Symphony is one of the best Harem titles i've seen in a while.
*phew* I'll leave my thoughts on Mawaru Penguindrum when it finishes me thinks.
