Gurren Lagann eps 1-4

I don't know why I didn't get around to watching this sooner, this show's epic!

Once you've started, you can't put it down. When I first watched it at my university's Anime and Comic Society I was blown away, as was everyone else.

I watched A Wind Called Amnesia and California Crisis yesterday. A Wind Called Amnesia was really stupid but at least I knew what was happening, California Crisis was just... bad even for 80s standards.

I'm about 3 episodes from finishing teh show 'STR.A.IN.'

I had seriously low expectations of this show, but it's proven to be a solid delight. true, a coupelof episodes have felt like filler, and bogged the show down in its first half, but I'm really enjoying the way this how has a more focused plot than so many longer mecha / interstellar war shows.

Most assuredly worth a peek.

Seikon no Qwaser II ep 10 - even in the context of this hilarious and decidedly OTT show, this episode was particularly out there.

A Bridge To The Starry Sky episode 8-12 (un-dropped & completed) - After talk on twitter and my usual crunchyroll viewings, I decided to finish this boring and unlikeable mess, since dropping it at episode 7 I knew that this would not be surprising me at this point, so:

No big surprises - Yep
Unfunny Harem Cliches - Yep
Cheezy last episode - (Very cheezy last episode) Yep
Harem ending? - No

Indeed, this VN adaptation at least picked one of the girls out of the Harem but the biggest problem with it is that there wasn't any romantic develpment except for acting shy and embrassed and no the accidental kiss in the 1st episode doesn't count.

So my problems still remained, uninteresting harem, a horrible & annoying best friend character and dumb episodes

As a member said on here:

Oh, wow, seriously? I guess they still make these shows.

ZETSUBOUSHITA!

4/10

Gurren Lagann eps 6-8

Episode 6 was just retarded, but in an awesome way episode 8 however made me shed manly tears when Kamina died

I'm not sure "retarted" is the right phrase. For me it just strikes me as being akin to something in a Carry On film especially the bit when, well you can probably guess, but it does in Yoko.

Now that you mention it, there is a bit of a Carry On vibe about the episode, the whole "step out the gunman and I'll remove the censor boxes" things was priceless
