Armored Trooper Votoms: Case;IRVINE - Episode 1

I was very interested in this seeing it is only the second non-Takahashi Votoms anime in the last 28 years.

It gets off to a solid if not totally spectacular start but it has an interesting premise and although Irvine shows perfect soldier tendencies he is a broken man not a uber god like Chirico.

after only really watching index from this season, thought i'd give a few shows a check

can't get into dragon crysis so that got dropped fast, so i gave another cruchy show a go

only 2 eps into it, but i'm actually enjoying Kore wa Zombie Desu ka :D

though that may be down souly to Yuu ;)

Twelve Kingdoms Episodes 44 & 45 - Very good show bar the last episode (the last episode of any anime should not be a recap episode).

Ah! My Goddess Episodes 6 - 10

Madoka Magica Episode 10

Well...i cant believe that Homura had twin tails and a shy personality. Even the 2nd time around she seemed even more cheerful than Madoka till she sees what actually happens to Puella Mahou Shoujo when they die! Basically it was just a constant rush of bad endings as she tried to redo the future over and over again.

In a way you can see why she has that cold personality in the end considering how often she saw Madoka die and turn into a witch and also how the whole group almost committed complete suicide courtesy of Mami. (I never expected Madoka to shoot Mami's soul gem!)

Alot of questions were answered and now we know Homura's role. I cant wait for more! It certainly made itself the best anime of the season on current form

What a pleasant surprise - it's actually good! The long-awaited marriage of Bokurano+Card Captor Sakura.

Lupin III episode 6 & Revolutionary Girl Utena episode 6

I'm having difficulty formulating my thoughts on these two. Lupin I'm enjoying more than I assumed I would, although the whimsical nature of the show prevents me from being utterly gripped. I recognise its quality as a weekly heist misadventure but am emotionally indifferent and distinctly glacial towards the overt sexism.

Utena I'm enjoying less than I thought I would. By which I mean I merely like it when I was expecting to love it. This has nothing to do with its off-beat comedy or slightly surreal world concept - after all, I am a Princess Tutu fanatic. The first three episodes left me mildly entertained but ultimately unmoved, and then episodes four and five (when pretty boy Miki tries to win Anthy by duelling with Utena because she reminds him of his sister) sparked something more primordial in me i.e. my love of bishies and everything anguished high school romance. Episode six then reversed back to the status quo. I presume the series will progress in episodic fits and stars like this until some time in the middle when, I hear, a lot of existentialist mumbo jumbo kicks in. I actually look forward to that (adored it in Evangelion) and hoping it will help anchor the show in something more substantial.

Finished Noein - brilliant

Finished season 2 of Monster Rancher - now I remember watching it. Never got into season 3 though.

First time I've heard anyone mention this show since I attempted to watch it years ago. It was so sloooooooooow and boooooooooooooooring and noooooooooooooothing ever happened. I may pick it up again since I've recently been saving a few shows from my dropped list... well, one day when I feel like something snail-paced.

If it's series 1, try and stick with it just a little longer. Ep8, then ep10 and everything after that are the Miyazaki/Takahata episodes.

If it's series 2... I'd kind of agree. It has its moments, but it seems very patchy and eh, attitudes to women are very much 'of their time'.

It rarely gets mentioned but I would never have called it slow. I never finished it myself, but I was engrossed in the characters, ideas and atmosphere for the 10 episodes I did watch.

Thats why i love it,the slow pace, spooky atmosphere, great cast of characters along with the complex story that twists and turns and keeps you guessing at every turn, mind you i can understand that the slow pace might put some people off but heh different strokes for different folks.
