Ritual and bad luck.
This had some humorous moments, the occasional sweet moment and some interesting tidbits of information about the Edo period, but overall it was mostly fluff and I didn't really like the titular Elf, she was a tad bit grating.
Art was quite nice and the animation good.

Firsy time watching this... Dunno why its taken so long!
First off i was not a fan of the first half of the 1st season... Very slow and boring and not really much happening. Nearly dropped it as i really could not get into it, but stuck at it and glad i did. The second half of the series was alot better and more happening
I really like the tomoya arc at the end.
Saying that
Clannad after story is superior in every single way alot more happens.after a few episodes it got me thinking why people thought it was such a sad anime...and then it hit me... Episode by episode it got me... 16 really hit me... Gotta admit i had a little cry😢

Clannad is something you have to watch all of to judge properly. Like you I almost dropped it in season 1 after 6-7 eps but glad I stuck with it as the payoff was really good.

Massive spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it, but this scene always gets me:


Friend of mine who isn't that into anime liked Clannad a lot and wound up using part of the OST at their wedding as well, spoilers again in case the thumbnail spoils anything.

Yeah, that was nice. I think it handled the characterisation well overall, but as others have remarked, it would have been welcome if it’d had another final flourish to end the cour.

Hell’s Paradise ep11

The more this shows its hand, the less enamoured with it I am, to be honest. It’s still perfectly watchable, but after a strong start, it feels quite ordinary now.

Lupin III: Bye Bye Lady Liberty

Ended up having quite a bit to say about this one, so thoughts in the other thread.

Finally got my home internet restored after two weeks of withdrawl.
Last Sunday was a Shakespearean day, so no anime.
I also watched Food Wars plate 5 (it did get very silly in this season, and I was a bit confused by how both of Erina's parents could have that "inherited" enhancement facility - cousins perhaps?), rewatch of Cat Planet Cuties (surprisingly fun but I don't know about the cat scout ship that crashed en-route to visit Earth with the first droid - can you imagine alien cat people turning up in the year 1000 to make contact!?), finally finished the last 11 episodes of Lelouch of the Rebellion (didn't like any of the main characters, as they all appeared to be sociopaths or bloodthirsty monsters, and we never got any answers about the origin of Geass), Galaxy Angel S (the first couple of episodes seemed very familiar, maybe I'd already started watching this before and forgot. Still silly pointless fun), and Urusei Yatsura episodes 25-37 (I like how Lum changes her normal bikini for a different swimsuit in the pool).
 
Levius (English dubbed) - Solidly entertaining and I'd watch a second season, dub was also pretty darn great, though I haven't listened to the 2 OST discs from the CE set yet :)

O Maidens in Your Savage Season (English subbed) - I only watched this subbed to minimize the chances of neighbours overhearing something taken out of context, so for all I know the dubbed version might be utterly amazing! Anyway, I have seen all of this show before apart from the second half of the last episode, and I really appreciate it a lot... not really sure why some men (some of them on this forum) keep saying it's trashy... are girls/women just not supposed to like or want sex or feel strong desire for boys/men (because from what I've seen some men are ok with (cis) lesbian romps but not anything that involves women wanting the D)? What were you expecting from a show about adolescent sexual awakening, exactly? My only real complaint is that there's not really any mention of female masturbation, I'm not demanding an explicit scene or anything but in a group of 5 girls that age one or two of them prob would have at least tried it! Also another case of a (female) MC being held to way too high a standard of behaviour as well IMO - she's just a fairly normal teenager? I'm bisexual but I wouldn't trash my straight female friend for not realising I've got feelings for her (character doesn't but some viewers did) and yes she does some dumb stuff but like... everyone makes a few missteps at her age? it's my possibly unpopular opinion that people's standards of behaviour for fictional characters in general seem to belie a misanthropic and unkind (and often sexist) attitude towards real people and their imperfections and needs, and I could rant about that all day, I just... what do people even expect from other people? Way too much from what I can see. Humans don't exist to just be convenient and easy to deal with all/most of the time :(

Xam'd: Lost Memories (REWATCH, English dubbed) - I think this is my third or fourth viewing of this series and I still adore it and think it's fantastic. Great dub, beautiful animation, engrossing characters and story with some important points to make :)

This was as much of a slow burn as I remember the manga being and as it's still ongoing the show didn't really have an ending. I think remember there being a point where an actual proper confession was made and another point where there was a bit of a twist they could have ended on, but I guess they went for being quite faithful rather than rushing or changing things around as I think those moments were in one of the next 2 volumes after the point where show ended.
The art and animation were very good. Passione shows are always good visually, even the trashier ecchi stuff.

Dead Mount Death Play eps 11 & 12 (complete)
Fortune and coming together.
You can tell it's written by the same person as Baccano due to the cavalcade of insane characters that are insane just for the sake of it. At least the story followed mostly one storyline, although that wasn't their fault with Baccano. It still didn't make much sense because of the shear amount of characters and many motivations not fully explained and then it ended on yet another unsatisfactory point for this season, but due to it being a split series this time. Probably won't bother with the second cour though.
Art and animation weren't the best either.

Combined force.
Yet another unsatisfactory ending and this doesn't have the excuse of an ongoing manga due to it being an original. Maybe it's due to the forth coming game that they had to make up some BS about disqualifying Eve and stripping her of her title. That's added on to the fact they didn't get to play against each other yet again! Maybe they think it means you'll be more invested to buy the game so you get to win as one of them against the other yourself!?
Art and animation seemed to take a tiny dip from s1 here and there.

Can't agree with you more in this. Bloody love Clannad and even bought the game on switch, though yet to play it and fully expect to struggle with the first half for an the aforementioned reasons heh. And the soundtrack is just gorgeous, simply beautiful.
 
Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too episode 13 Comet. (Complete. A fairly forgettable series that entertained each week but doesn’t warrant a rewatch.) 3/5
