Star Wars Visions (Episodes 3 to 9 (Finished))

Barring one episode (Episode 2, Tatoine Rhapsody, that one can be skipped) this show was actually really good, which is suprising considering that when I first heard mention of it, I thought that it was just Disney pretending that they can do anime, what I didn't realise until actually giving it a chance was that it was actually several professional anime producers, given full creative freedom to tell how they percieve the Star Wars universe; the result is the best thing to happen to Star Wars (at least outside of games, Fallen Order has that honour) since Disney bought it.

I actually want a full series made out of The Duel as well as Lop and Ocho now.

Six hours of Sgt Frog so far today. Finding it hard to stop. There should be a warning on the case about the appalling Beatles accents and the gratuitous destruction of large numbers of Gundam models. Parodies of Spirited Away and Back to the Future so far. I expect the English dub to end in the next hour or so, and that might be a good time for a break. :)

KanColle: Let’s Meet at Sea episode 7 Joining the fray.

One Piece episode 1051 Clouds of flame.

To Your Eternity 2nd Season episode 16 Do the thing.

Sonny Boy episodes 7-12 (Complete. I appreciate when more experimental anime series’ like this emerge, though on this occasion I wasn’t quite as engaged with the overall story.) 3.5/5

Sorcerer Hunters
episodes 1-14

Ranma 1/2 - Episodes 116 - 126 (Blu-ray)

Had a long enough break to get back into Ranma 1/2 and now on to set 6 which covers the rest of season 6 and the start of season 7. Still funny and endearing as ever and episode 124 'The Missing Matriarch of Martial Arts Tea' had me in stitches!

Penguin's Memory - A Tale of Happiness

Watched this ahead of a review on the next episode of the podcast. An interesting film from the mid 80's that I'm looking forward to talking about with Lewis.

The Case of Hana and Alice (Blu-ray)

Another film I've been meaning to get round to for years. It's one of those films that I think works really well in anime as a medium, simple, not extravagant 'slice of life' type stories but very well executed. I really enjoyed this film, I liked the characters and it had me completely engaged the whole time.

I'll look into Penguin's Memory, and I loved The Case of Hana and Alice too (I actually really enjoyed the Fireworks anime as well, which also had Shunji Iwai's involvement) :)

Wait, there's a series?! That totally flew under my radar. The UK just got one OAV on VHS as part of an anthology called Rumik World (which I think were originally unrelated titles released years apart in Japan). I knew there was a Mermaid's Scar OAV too, but hadn't heard of a TV series.

The TV series was a prequel to the OVA and Scar was a sequel. I've never seen the TV series but might look it up now.

Not watched Andor yet then? Or, and I had to check this as I wasn't sure, the film it's a prequel to, Rouge One? Excellent TV series and film.
To be fair I haven't seen those two so I can't say for sure how they compare to Visions; come to think of it, I probably should have said that Visions was the best Star Wars product that I've seen since the Disney takeover rather than just the best; though it was the first Star Wars I've watched since the time I got around to sitting through the absolute sludge that was The Last Jedi and, compared to that as well as on it's own merits, Visions is a really good show; Tatoine Rhapsody notwithstanding.

Rouge One is the best film outside of the original trilogy and probably better than even those as a film if you take the nostalgia factor out. Andor is getting a second season that links straight into the film, but not till next year. I'm not sure if it'll be best to wait and watch all of it once that is out or say watch the film and see if you like it first and go from there.
Visions is a really good show
Yeah, I liked most of them too. I'm with you on the weakest.

Malevolent Spirits: Monogatari episode 6 Questioning.

The Vampire Dies in No Time Season 2 episode 18 Visitor.

Vinland Saga Season 2 episode 30 Too much wealth?

Sorcerer Hunters episodes 15-26 & OVAs (Complete. I found this rather entertaining, albeit a bit too light-hearted at times, though the final episodes were more serious in tone. The OVAs upped the raunchiness but otherwise didn’t add much to the series as a whole.) 3.5/5, 2.5/5

The Eminence in Shadow (English Dub) Episode 8

Malevolent Spirits: Monogatari Episode 6

Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire Episode 6

Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 30

Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skills episode 6 Sui (Or in a season of slime).

Sound of the Sky episodes 1-12 & Specials (Complete. This military-themed series offered quite a fascinating and often poignant story - it reminded me at times of Haibane Renmei and also of Aria, dealing with mature themes through often minimalistic episodes. Definitely worth a watch if you enjoy iyashikei series’.) 4.5/5

Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skills Episode 6

Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible Episode 6
