Dropkick on My Devil!! (Sub) Episode 12 (Complete)
Yurine hits a lottery jackpot of sorts, and a trip to the beach turns into a battle to survive. Those refercences tho. Really good series, very funny with its comedy and references/parodies. 3/5
Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan (Sub) Episode 10
(Drooooool, wipes mouth with hand) Mmmm crispy fried chicken. Yum.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Sub) Episode 1
Not quite what I was expecting, but this was actually a good opening episode. It'll be interesting to see how the series progresses going forward.
The Girl in Twilight (Sub) Episode 1
Well..... This looks interesting.
Dropkick on my Devil! episode 12 A bonus beach episode.
Steins;Gate Zero (Dub) episode 21 Kyoma is back it seems.
31 Days of Halloween Day #1: Carrie (1976, Brian de Palma) “They’re all going to laugh at you!” This classic psychological horror based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. It features the classic King tropes such as awful teenage bullies and girls with telekinetic powers and terrible parents.
This is paired with Brian de Palma’s great directing and an equally impressive cast, and that climax is one of the main reasons Carrie is considered a classic. I love the use of split-screen that de Palma uses and here it’s very effective. 4/5
Space Battleship Tiramisu Zwei episode 1
I think this appealed to me because it reminded me of some stuff I saw in Japan. Pretty much the same kind of thing as the last season though.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 1
After this I'm giving it the three episode rule. I wouldn't be surprised if the tone of it actually shifted a bit especially as its two cours, but I thought it was a bit meh.
Steins;Gate 0 ep 21
They're going to have to figure out who keeps telling the helicopter pilot the right moment to show and get rid of the problem before moving on.
Yuuna and the Haunted Hotsprings ep 12 (complete)
Quite an emotional episode for an ecchi with the story of the 2 ghost they meet at the beach. But still had plenty of other moments
Overall it started slowly with repeated gags, but got better once you got to know the characters, most of whom were good. The gags varied a bit, not in sophistication, but in the action of their slapstick nature. Good art and consistent animation as well. 7/10
Cells at Work ep 13 (complete)
More moving moments in this episode as Red Blood Cell and the body nearly succumbs to the injury, but blood transfusion to the rescue!
Overall a fun and entertaining show that also taught me lots of stuff. Red Blood Cell will forever be in my heart (and lungs and kidneys and liver ). There were somethings that meant I couldn't score it higher, some of the background art was a little dull and it occasionally got a little repetitive, but apart from that it's great. 8/10
PS after posting that reddit link earlier in the season I'd thought I'd post this reaction video from a UK doctor. It's very good and I hope he does more:
Hanebado! ep 13 (complete)
The match finishes (another one spun out over 3 episodes) with the right result for me. I think the Ayano at the end has mellowed a bit, but the resolution of the off court stuff seemed a bit lacking.
Overall the off court stuff brought the whole thing down, I know anime is littered with stupid or cruel or even absent parents (either through abandonment, jobs or death), but Uchida takes the biscuit for managing all three! Ayano 180 in attitude from meek put-upon to angry all out attack was just as stupid. Animation was great with the on court stuff even if the angles and cuts chosen made it hard to figure out what was going on sometimes. 7/10
Jingai-san no Yome episode 1 Considering how little we got here I guess I’ll have to check out the next couple of episodes just to get what this is even about. Took me longer to write this than the length of the actual episode sans OP.
Overlord III episode 13 (Complete. My thoughts on this aren’t dissimilar to that of season II. At times it’s great fun, but a lot of screen time is given to characters who I seldom cared for, and the CGI throughout was pretty bad. That being said I still overall enjoyed this and will await Overlord IV whenever that comes around.) 3.5/5
31 Days of Halloween Day #2: The City of the Dead (1960, John Llewellyn Moxey) A quaint slow-burn horror from 1960 that stars Christopher Lee amongst other British actors doing their best attempts at American accents. The film is suitably atmospheric and makes the most of a clearly limited budget. The transfer is also a wonderful effort from the Cohen Film Collection. 3.5/5
Hyouka episodes 15-22 (Complete. A mystery series wrapped in a layer of SoL and the occasional plot of school time drama. It was quite enjoyable and had a nicely developed cast and solid storylines. What makes Hyouka stand out is a unique sort of atmosphere that it has-it’s hard to describe but it made the series better as a result.) 4/5
Angelic Layer (English Dub) Episode 1 - 9 (Blu-ray)
This is actually some decent stuff.
Harukana Receive (English Dub) Episode 11
OVERLORD III (English Dub) Episode 10
Jingai-san no Yome (Sub) Episode 1
Not really sure what to make of this. Gonna need a few eps just to figure out what this is about considering how short this was.
OVERLORD III (Sub) Episode 13 (Complete)
Good episode. Best season so far, but not perfect. Hopefully (fingers crossed) a fourth season isn't to far away. 4/5
Overlord III episode 13 (Complete) - After two great seasons of Overlord I'm unsure of what to make of this season. The enjoyment I had with the first two just isn't there anymore and it's unlikely that I'll continue with the next season. At least the finale was a pretty great episode to end with. 6/10
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 1 - First episode was pretty good fun and honestly much better than I expected.
And now for the Autumn 2018 plan. Thankfully it's only 11 series this time around.
Attack on Titan Season 3 (Continued)
Angels of Death Specials
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
Anima Yell!
Ms. vampire who lives in my neighborhood.
Zombieland Saga
Bloom into You
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind
SSSS.Gridman
Goblin Slayer
Golden Kamuy Season 2
And I'll give these three another shot now that the season's over.
Happy Sugar Life (delayed for the Halloween lineup)
Overlord III episode 13 (complete)
This started out a lot better than it ended up. At the end of season 2 I was really wanting to know what happens next, but I'm not really bothered this time round.
Jingai-san No Yoma episode 1
That was quick. You didn't really get anything this time round though. It set the characters (or at least what they look like) and the location and probably the plot, but you don't know anything about the characters yet. It's based on a 4-panel manga so the manga will be short but so are a lot of anime that just flesh things out. K-On was a 4-panel, and so was Azumanga Daioh and I think both of them work better as an anime. 3:30 is to short to judge anything with this really, but for now I deem this anime too short.
Run With The Wind episode 1
I didn't expect to like this but I really enjoyed it. Very much the characters taking precedence which is always a good thing. Interesting characters and well animated.
Xuan Yuan Sword Luminary episode 1
Action/fantasy kind of thing. Feels a lot like something but I can't put my finger on it yet.
Is The Order a Rabbit?? episode 2
Pretty much the same as the first season. Has a similar tone to Kinmoza for me.
Overlord III episode 13 (complete) 10/10 because im biased and don't care
Sirius the Jaeger (complete) 7/10 - Solid Vampire series with great animation. The supporting case were wasted and in general there was a lack of character development. Well worth a watch though.
Revue Starlight ep 12 (complete)
Karen invades Hikari's stage and overthrows her Starlight and creates her own where they can fulfil their promise to one another.
Overall an interesting series. The revues were mostly excellent, but at times it was a bit confusing as to what was going on and there's a load of unanswered questions. I may have to rewatch with the dub at some point. 7/10
My Sweet Tyrant eps 13-25
Had its moments, but the main couple showed little change in their dynamic from beginning to end. 6/10
Right just We Rent Tsukumogami to finish this season. Although I do still have Free! S3 to binge at some point when the dub is finished, plus whatever Netflix Summer shows I was going to watch (whenever they decide to show them).
Yuru Camp△ Specials 1-3 (complete)
Three fun shorts. A prequel, a "let's trick Nadeshiko" short and a survival camp. Hope to see these in an official manner at some point. 8/10
Rascal does not dream of Bunny Girl Senpai episode 1 Some interesting concepts in here, curious to see how it’ll deliver on the premise.
RErideD- Derrida who leaps through time episode 5 Exploring old memories in an abandoned museum.
Run with the Wind episode 1 So far so good, like how they’re developing the large cast early on.
31 Days of Halloween Day #3: I Drink your Blood. (1970, David E. Durston) A shocking gory horror for its time in 1970, this was decent if unremarkable, with a solid cast and some bloody violence scored to an ill-fittingly funky soundtrack. The climax is fun, if ridiculously cheesy and impossible to take seriously. 3/5
Today: Space Dandy(Dub) episodes 11-13(Complete)- Fun first season loved it 9/10.
Space Dandy Season 2(Dub) episodes 1-3 That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 1-Funny liking the look of it.
March comes in like a lion Season 2-episodes 2-5-The feels....*sob*
