Full Metal Panic Fumoffu-Episodes 11 and 12 (Complete)
Really enjoyable follow up to the first season, the focus on comedy over action lead to some excellent comedic moment. I thought there were a few dud episodes/segments, but overall very funny. Given the step up in animation quality, I can't wait to see what KyoAni does when they take the franchise down the action route in The Second Raid.
Yuri on Ice-Episode 1
Of all the shows I've picked up, this one has definitely been the most disappointing to me. A load of people have been absolutely raving about this first episode and I genuinely don't see what all the fuss is about. What I will say is that in terms of animation, I can't fault it, it's a really great looking show, but aside from that, there's nothing really special or immediately grabbing here. Nothing is bad either, mind, but it seems totally middle of the road, 7/10 fodder at the moment. Yuri just seems rather bland out of the gate as a character, as does everyone else for that matter, and the comedy didn't even raise a smile out of me. The ice skating sequence towards the end was rather drawn out, and considering my lack of investment in the story, rather dull, if pretty. I also thought this initial episode really lacked a good hook, something to draw me back in for the next episode. I'm not going to drop it, it is enjoyable, but this is definitely a case of hype utterly murdering a show for me. If I had just stumbled into this with no knowledge, I might have been a bit more forgiving, but I went into this expecting something amazing from the get go, and this just did not manage that.
