Non Non Biyori Repeat-Episode 5

Hilarious episode. Glad to see an all cast focus as opposed to the more Renge focused episodes we've gotten recently.

Monster Musume (Japanese Dub) - Episode 05

I think the BBFC might not be too keen on this episode, heck this is only the censored version.

In case you're curious, I'm referring to the scene in which Suu pretty much gropes everyone because of the mucus.

I was kind of worried that this season wouldn't stack up to the first one but I've been enjoying it a lot so far. I think the second season has felt a little different at times but what it's doing seems to work. I suppose part of the reason that it feels different could be because I have to wait a week for each episode rather than watching the whole thing whenever I want.

Kaede was just brilliant (as usual) so it was good to see her make a bit more of an appearance this episode. She's great in general but the Kaede/Renge team seems particularly unstoppable.

I often like minor/side characters and feel I'd like to see more of them but sometimes I wonder if the reason they work so well is that they make the most of a few appearances and each is more special because of their rarity. I'm not sure about that one.

Darker Than Black (English Dub) - Episodes 07-09

Awesome opening song as usual.

So far I've finished the first disc of three for this series, Blu-ray quality is great in my standards.

Have you reached the second OP yet? The first OP song is waaay better but the second OP is way more interesting visually. IIRC most of the first OP is just panning on uninteresting things where as OP2 has things happening.

I haven't since I've just finished Episode 9. :p

Psycho-Pass - Extended Edition - Episodes 01-06 (Corresponds to Episodes 01-12 of the original version)

This has been in "to watch" pile for a while, cannot believe I've waited this long. It's brilliant, and I really like the design of it, but occasionally the animation is a little ropey. My only note is that the merging of episodes (done for the extended edition) does frequently throw the pacing out of whack, and often means the last half of episodes doesn't match the first, but the rest of it is so good and I've heard there's lots of extended scenes, so I'm willing to forgive this.

As an aside, Egoist's Namae No Nai Kaibutsu might just be the catchiest end song I've ever heard, and I'm quite disappointed to see the show replace it with something generic and boring.

Gangsta. - Episode 05

A great episode, but I felt like there was a lot of stuff that wasn't abundantly clear (or maybe I'm just stupid). I feel like this entire show would be better if they just had a little bit more runtime in each episode, but you know what they say about how it's best to leave them wanting more.

World Trigger - Episode 1
So the animation is abysmal, the score sounds like something from a cheaply made PS2 arcade game, with a slight hint of the easy listening music you hear in stereotypical shopping malls. However, clearly the most frustrating part of the episode is Crunchyroll's instance on spelling it "neighbor"...

Character wise, Yuma is a bit too much of a dick. Charlotte works because it's MC was both simultaneously charming and a complete dick. Yuma has none of that charm. So he's basically being a dick (to a kid that's clearly trying to do the right thing and be nice to him, even when he doesn't have to) for no reason throughout the entire episode, and yet I think we're supposed to like him, because he had a whopping 30 seconds worth of personality softening at the end.

Also, maybe I'm picking up on something unintentional, but was their literature class supposed to be a reference to Jump SQ title Seraph of the End? "Yoichi nocked his arrow, drew it back and fired..."

I don't remember this scene but I'd wager that it's almost certainly a reference to Nasu No Yoichi, a famous historical figure who was especially known for his archery skills. Make of that what you will with regards to the other character :)

I thought I was being ridiculous, but when I googled it, only results relating to Seraph of the End and archery in general came out.

That'll teach me not to post dumb crap on the internet at 1.25 in the morning...

Well you probably weren't the only person wondering about it :)

It's probable that the Seraph character was named after the other Yoichi (sorry, I mostly watched Seraph for the vampires).

Yu-Gi-Oh GX (Subbed)-Episodes 3-6

Episode 3: Decent episode. I can't wait until this show gets a story. I know it happens, I remember it happening but it certainly isn't happening yet. This episode did make me wonder about the 4Kids dub though. I'd be interested to know if they changed the reason why Judai would be expelled for trespassing in the Girls dorm to something more PG than being a Pervert. I'm also curious as to what they changed the conversation about Asuka's bust size to in the dub.

Hunter x Hunter-Episodes 48-50

Episode 48: If Gon pawned his Hunter's Licence for cash to go towards buying Greed Island, how is he going to afford to buy it back? I'm not sure he thought this one through...

Episode 49: Kurapika becoming a hitman with the sole purpose of hunting members of the Phantom Troupe. It's all I could ask for!
