I watched Episodes 1-6 of My Love Story/Ore Monogatari.
It's been really brilliant so far. Aside from the excellent comedy (especially if you like exaggerated reactions and such), it also manages to tell a surprisingly realistic story about romance between a "non-standard" couple (for Shoujo, at least). Cynical people might think the characters are far too nice to be real but the show does a pretty good job of explaining their personalities and justifying their actions and beliefs.
As well as the romantic elements, there's also a really nice story about true friendship between the main character Takeo and his best friend Suna. For a while I wondered if Suna might have had feelings going a bit beyond friendship towards Takeo but it doesn't look like things will go that way. I have to admit, I was concerned that the show was going to play up "traditional" gender roles a bit too much and that could start to annoy me but within a few episodes there's a story that breaks down assumptions about gender so it looks like I was worrying for nothing. Takeo may have ideas about what it means to be a man but the show itself seems to be avoiding any bias and it's interesting to see the characters learn some lessons too.
It's really been very enjoyable so far and I'm looking forward to seeing more.
