The Irregular at Magic High School
S1
Episodes 5-8
Easy watch. Fights, magic gobbledygook talk and I've just found out the MC also beeps for a beep beep.
A very entertaining series that I have thoroughly enjoyed.
Thunderbolt Fantasy: Sword Seekers 4 - Episode 11
Ranma 1/2 (2024) - Episode 11
I have to say I found this episode a bit too 'noisy' visually, so far I have quite liked some of additional visual elements that have been adopted in this version of Ranma but I felt this episode went too far with with it.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Episodes 1-5
Well, even though I am a DIEHARD Gundam avoider, I watched the first 5 episodes of Witch from Mercury last night just to see if I could handle it, only because I was possibly interested in adding the steelbook releases to my Anime Steelbook collection. I actually was enjoying the story Ok so far, so I will probably go ahead and include the steelbooks in my next big order from Crunchyroll. I did also like some of the newer Gundam series like Origins, IBO, and Thunderbolt, so I have just those three Gundam series in my anime collection now. I guess I will be adding one more Gundam series to the mix, albeit very stubbornly! I'm still not a mecha fan though - honest!
I've either dropped, completed or didn't bother at all with my Winter PTW new shows (a couple of sequels I may or may not watch to go), so onto Spring:
Girls Band Cry eps 1-6
A girl from the sticks drops out of High School and moves to Tokyo (sort of) with no particular goal in mind and on her first day! there meets the singer/guitarist/songwriter of her favourite song who left the band she made that song with. Together they start a new band.
Another show I wonder what the hype is about. It's full of convenient coincidences and the main girl is a bit grating, either too shy or too OTT with not much in between. The music is alright, but not as good as Bocchi the Rock! (which is 2 years old already!! )
On the art and animation side it's directed by the Love Live! Sunshine!! director except instead of sticking to CG for just the performances uses it for the entire show! Some of it is OK, but most of the time it feels like watching a PS3 game where the character models are acting! And thus, again, no where near the level of Bocchi (or K-On for that matter, a show that's 15 years old!)
