What manga are you reading now?

Just finished the latest volume (#10) of Skip and Loafer by Misaki Takamatsu (Seven Seas) and delighted to report that it's as good as ever (no signs of suffering from that creative slump that occurs so often after an anime TV series). The mangaka is so clever at capturing the highs and lows of in high school (or sixth form college for us maybe?) with a keen eye and a light but incisive touch. Still highly recommended! Only problem? Having to wait till May 2025 for #11.

Full Clearing Another World under a Goddess with Zero Believers volumes 1-3: Not your average isekai, as a busload of teenagers were "saved" from certain death under an avalanche in Japan and brought to a fantasy world by a goddess (kidnapped?). Apparently the move gives them special powers in the new world ... apart from our protagonist Takatsuki. Then he gets saddled as being the only believer of an "evil" goddess. All good fun. It's an interesting concept and I'm enjoying the story as it unfolds. It does look like there will be a bit of harem action in later books.

Haven't read anything for a while. So here's another first volume of a yuri manga!

The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All vol 1
The title is pretty self explanatory. It's another gyaru (Aya) x dark loner (Mitsuki) type as they bond over Western music as Mitsuki works in her uncles CD store, but in disguise. And wouldn't you know it they actually sit next to each other in class! This leads to a bit of a double life type situation for Mitsuki until...
The art is really good and isn't just black and white, but uses a green mostly in the background to make it pop more.

And a non-yuri one:
Touring After the Apocalypse vol 1
It's a bit like Girls' Last Tour except through Japan instead of made up world with a bit more of a comedy vibe.
Background art is nice and detailed, character design is a bit plainer.

Another yuri manga first volume:
This Monster Wants to Eat Me vol 1
Hinako lives in a seaside town, but she's an orphan due to her parents drowning and it's the same season as when it happened. As she's walking to school one day a strange girl grabs her as she was getting close to the railings by the sea. Then after school she finds herself by the sea again when a yokai tries to drag her in to eat her. Then the mysterious girl shows up and saves her, as it turns out Hinako smells delicious to monsters and Shiori, the mysterious girl and the titular monster, will keep her safe from other monsters until she's "ripe"!
Interesting premise for a story and the art is quite nice.

Full Clearing Another World under a Goddess with Zero Believers volumes 4-7: still enjoyable, apart from the constant "when will he be losing his virginity and to which of his many female friends" dialogue.
