Whispered Words vol 9 (complete)
That was a beautiful ending! Even though there's plenty of things off about it. Too many characters that looked the same and the side character sub-plots largely went nowhere. Most of the plot was spent in the first year of high school, but then sped up like mad to rush to graduation meaning their first kiss, as beautiful as it was, was about a year and a half after they finally confessed! Also there was plenty wrong with the presentation, lots of writing outside speech/thought bubbles that were hard to place who they belonged to, also the translation kept the honorifics so some characters had about 5 names/nicknames depending on who was speaking to them which along with the similar designs made it hard to remember who was who and there were loads of typos too!
It was quite amusing at times and also had a fair bit of drama. It's the first yuri I've read where some characters are homophobic! The ones I've read have been set in yuri land where all or the vast majority of the characters are female and the only objections are one of the main characters initial self doubt before realising that they do in fact love women. There was a whole plotline in this manga where our main girl was running for president and the supporters of the opposition planned a smear campaign by stalking her to get pictures of her dating with her friend! But it ended with both candidates being banned from running after the MCs friends confronted the stalkers with violence and ends up with the MCs friend running and winning by default because there's no other candidate and the homophobia aspect is dropped without really being confronted. There is a pro gay marriage message right at the end, but it still hasn't happened in Japan yet 12 years after the manga finished!
Talking of the age of the manga, it has a nice style that is now probably looked upon as a bit old fashioned, but sort of feels nostalgic.
I'm giving it the score based mainly on the central pairings story:
8/10

Heartstopper Volume 4 (Hardcover) - Not as upbeat as previous volumes but ofc that's understandable given the subject matter and it's beautiful to see Nick and Charlie stick together through the bad times as well as the good, I'm really looking forward to Volume 5 though I'll be waiting for it to be released in Hardcover before I buy and read it :)

The Girl From the Other Side 3-in-1 Omnibus 4 containing Volumes 10-11 and bonus volume Dear - A thoughtful and moving conclusion to the story, and Dear was so adorable like I'm not much of a bonus side stories volume person but these were cute and delightful :)

Lore Olympus Volume 5 - Continues to engage and entertain and Hera is amazing in this volume :)

Chester 5000 XYV Book 2: Isabelle and George - Incredibly hot porn with lovable characters told like a silent film, I loved the first book and this second installment did not disappoint, this and Empowered are my fave comics of this type :)

Elephantmen Volume 00: Armed Forces - Heavy going but worth it, and I'm looking forward to seeing the Elephantmen integrate into human society in subsequent volumes :)

One Piece (Manga) - Volumes 81-82, Chapters 807-827

Zou arc is now done and now on Whole Cake Island arc. Interesting to see they switched it up so that Dressrosa focused on one half of the crew whilst Whole Cake Island has the other half, pretty cool to see.

One Piece (Manga) - Volumes 89-90, Chapters 890-910 (On-Hold)

Now finished Whole Cake Island's arc and the mini-arc called Reverie. Volume 90's last two chapters is the start of the Wano arc but this is where my read on the series comes to a halt, as that concludes Box Set 4's batch.

Box Set 5 will probably cover the final remaining One Piece arcs as the series is in its final saga, but it's possible Box Set 5 will cover just Wano and Egghead in general (if the latter is a smaller arc).

Either way it's been a good run. Dressrosa was like a mix between Alabasta and Impel Down whilst Whole Cake Island is a surprise change of pace though both arcs did drag a bit longer than they should but each of them had great final fights for Luffy.

From this point I can now play through most of the One Piece games in my PS4 backlog and even watch both Film Gold and Film Red since there shouldn't be anything else that would cause potential plot spoilers.

Empowered Volume 5 - Another top notch volume, I got a lot out of this, enjoyed the mixture of erotic stuff and character/plot developments as always

I'm really sad about Mindfuck they were one of my favourite characters, but at least it provided an opportunity for Emp and Sistah Spooky to bond

Also I was so pissed at Ocelotina for getting duct tape in Empowered's HAIR! I don't usually say stuff like this but in that moment I was like "OMG she's the enemy of all womankind" lol... at least she did try to set the record straight about the capeys and offer her 50% of the profits from uploading the bondage vid online but like... I would be so pissed if someone got duct tape in my hair! :<

Tales of the Kingdom Volume 2 - Another beautiful, eerie volume, will def be reading more of this as I am v engaged by the characters and storytelling, I hope there is a happy ending for at least some of them! :)

Cheerful Amnesia vol 1
Hilarious yuri gag manga about a woman who wakes up after an accident with amnesia and finds out she's in a relationship with another woman. Luckily it's love at first sight again, but she's lost 3 years of mental growth, as far as I could tell her memories stop in her last year of high school, so she can't remember how to kiss, etc. and she was the more forward of the 2, so they both have to learn about that side of relationships.

Dragon Ball Super - Chapter 99 - 100

This finished up the Super Hero arc in the manga which has felt like it went on forever. Outside of the new mini arc prior to this which tied in with the story, there wasn't much difference between the manga and movie versions which made it feel a bit repetitive reading from month to month, even though I enjoy Super Hero.

I do wonder where they'll go next from here, if it'll be something new or if they'll adapt the upcoming Daima series, either way it'll be something new and refreshing.
