What manga are you reading now?

Spice & Wolf v14 (LN). I really shouldn't leave such a long gap between reading each volume of this, I'm starting to forget what happened in the earlier books now.

Lone Wolf & Cub Ch. 15-19
DBZ Vol. 1
10 Count Vol 1.

That feel when Shirotani says he doesn't like book stores, because you don't know who's used the book before you...

Finally got around to installing the CR manga app after... two years? Started into both Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru/ And Yet the Town Moves and Starlight Woman.

Was concerned SoreMachi might not play as well without the Simbo/Shaft treatment, but it's still pretty funny. Starlight Woman is a pleasant surprise though - the story of an alien abductee just trying to lead a normal life isn't hugely groundbreaking so far, but the detailed art and silly sense of humour remind me a lot of Tsukasa Hojo's work.

Finished Starlight Woman - hadn't realised it was only 15 chapters. Rather disappointed it ended so quickly; it felt like it had the ending that was planned, but it really felt like there was a step or two missed out in getting there. Rie Kanou's art is lovely though. It's a shame there seems to be little information about her out there in English - I'd be curious to know if her style is purely her own creation or if she might have previously been an assistant to someone who was big in the 1980s.

Read another few chapters into SoreMachi.

I enjoyed the tv series, but from what I remember, the description of the main character, Arashiyama, as a 'girl who loves mysteries' always baffled me a bit, as it never seemed to come up, outwith the shot of her holding a magnifying glass in the opening. This makes much more sense in the manga, however, as it's explicitly mentioned that she is obsessed with mystery novels and even puts her detective skills to work in figuring out why her maths teacher has a self-portrait from his grandfather showing him with two sets of eyes.
