What Games Are You Playing?

For some reason yesterday I started playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon for DS again. Such a nostalgic game for me. I only beat it once when I was a kid so I think I'm going to try and beat it again. I remember it getting pretty difficult but I'm not sure that's because I was a kid or because it was hard. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Team (PS3)
Played a match where it was a moe girl who pokes people against a moe librarian girl where her special attack is creating a domino effect of bookshelves. Nuff said.

Bushido Blade [ブシドーブレード] (PS1 via PSN)
This. Game. Is. Awesome. Especially in local multiplayer, Bushido Blade is very fun and has a really interesting combat system that uses every button and if you screw up you are dead. It's a one hit kill game pretty much. I downloaded this from the Japanese PSN store since I wanted to own the game (it's been localised but I don't see this getting a PS Classics release in English).

Dead or Alive [デッドオアアライブ] (PS1 via PSN)
Like Bushido Blade, the very first Dead or Alive was only available on the Japanese PSN store and I wanted to download it. The game is pretty much 75% English, the other 25% is Japanese for the character bios and some other stuff. And can I just say this - This game allows you to turn on or off the Bouncing Boobs. I'm being serious. Now I know the DOA series is known for its fanservice but I wasn't expecting an option like this in the very first game, and let's just say those tits sure do bounce a lot. Oh Japan. But anyway the game is really fun and the Tournament mode gets really tough after beating at least 6 opponents. I do plan to download Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore from the US PS Store (which was recently added by the way) and pick up Dead or Alive 5 Last Round for the PS4 (once I get one ofc).

Fuun Shinsengumi [風雲 新撰組] (PS2 via PSN)
I wanted to pick up a JP PS2 game and I chose this one (after looking up gameplay and reviews etc). I played a bit of it and I like the gameplay. It's not entirely import friendly but it's been mildly translated online. Has a nice intro cut-scene as well.

Guilty Gear (PS1 via PSN)
Got this since it was £2 via Arcade sale. It's a great game but I can understand why the reviews were somewhat mixed with the game - the characters are rather unbalanced (some can be impossible to fight against due to their attacks) but it looks great overall. Local multiplayer was doable which is still a plus and the combos are great to pull off. I still can't wait to get a PS4 and play Xrd Sign (I'm aware it's on PS3 but the PS4 version is better imo).

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd [初音ミク -Project DIVA- F 2nd] (PS3)
I'm probably about 1/3 into this game. I like the songs so far but F 1st had a better setlist so far. Packaged is my favourite song so far.

The House of the Dead III (PS3 via PSN)
Oh this game brings me back memories from going into the Bowling alley and having a go at the arcade version every time I visit. I never actually got past the second chapter so I was happy to download this game when it was on offer for £2. First things first, this game is so cheesy and I can't take the dialogue serious enough (*kills plant* "Character: I was never any good at gardening.." *Me: WTF*). I tried it out myself, managed to reach the final boss and unfortunately I got K.O.'d. Tried it again with a friend via co-op and we both got K.O.'d at the same fight. Maybe I should add more lives...

Tales of Symphonia (PS3)
Finally decided to continue further into this game. Started from going into the Ossa Trail and gone through quite a couple of events (took a boat to Palmacosta for the first time, found out that a Human Ranch were abusing folks from the town, Chocolat needed rescuing, discovered Marble was her grandmother and took care of that Magnius twat). After destroying a Human Ranch in the Palmacosta region I was able to journey past the mountain and go ALL the way round the map since the boat trip was one way only to go back into Ossa Trail. The reason? That Skeleton head. I couldn't beat him when I was Level 14 and decided to progress further into the story so that I would encounter harder enemies to level up faster, and after reaching Level 20 (and at that point my Synposis is set to Chocolat's Refusal) I go back to the Skeleton and just managed to beat him. That's one down and two more to go. Overall I have spent at least 11 hours 30 minutes into this game (that's 6 hours more game time since I started continuing).

XI[sai] Trial [XI[sai] 体験版] (PS1 via PSN) ~ also known as Devil Dice
Basically a free demo from the PS Classics section of the JP PSN, it's an interesting puzzle title but it's just a demo.

I've finished Valkyria Chronicles yesterday, just going through the NG+ content now. The last mission was the only one that gave me any real problems, it was mostly straightforward enough probably because of the experience I gained playing Xcom and Full Spectrum Warrior over the years. Definitely one of my favourite games from that gen of games. I'm eyeing up the artbook on Amazon right now (more money gone  ).

Up next is the Tales Of twin pack, though I'm not sure which one I should start with (Graces F or Symphonia Chronicles, recommendations are welcome :thumb: ). I've never played any Tales game before so this will be my first foray into the series, but considering the high regard many seem to hold it in I'm expecting a lot from it.

Also continuing to grind my way through Ace Combat Infinity, I've been playing that for 11 months now!

I started with Tales of Symphonia since it's a fairly old title in the series (originally on Gamecube in 2003 then ported to PS2 in 2004 for Japan only, the HD version is the PS2 one) so I felt going into the PS3 titles would affect my impressions of the game.

To me I'm going with this order:
- Tales of Symphonia
- Tales of Graces f
- Tales of Xillia
- Tales of Xillia 2
- Tales of Zestiria

Vesperia is possible since I own a 360 but I would rather prefer getting it on PS3 though it was only released in Japan. Abyss and Hearts R will be somewhere on the order.

One Piece: Unlimited World Red Vita

Not for me, combat is far too slow and not enjoyable

Dragonball: Advance Adventure GBA

Great fun. Fast paced side scrolling beat em up, with a fun 1 vs 1 combat minigame

Kuru Kuru Kururin GBA

Hair pullingly difficult at times, but addictive like crack.

Starfy 2 GBA

Charming underwater platformer where you play as a starfish type creature.

Omega Quintet PS4

Pure otaku material, but great combat with a surprisingly deep system.

K-On! Houkago Live!!

I would like to play the game but unfortunately after the 3D warning appears my TV just doesn't want to display the game - it just said 'mode not supported'. Perhaps it's because the game is a PSP remaster and maybe there are TV incompatibility because my other games work perfectly fine here. The back case states it supports 1080p so what the heck is going on here?

UPDATE: Problem solved - additional options were added to the settings and it automatically turned on the 3D option. Just turn that off and the game will run. Phew.

Sorcery Saga Vita

Cute but the gameplay does nothing for me, back to the case you go.

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace Vita

Decent but not a lot of variety, might come back to this at a later date.

Final Fantasy X HD Vita

Looks and sounds great, just met up with Yuna, think this will be my game of the moment

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red GBA

See Sorcery Saga, gameplay does nothing for me unfortunately.

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga GBA

Charming and amazing fun, will be my main GBA game at the moment (with DB:AA and Starfy 2 as my break games)

Started poking around with both The Witcher 2 and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter now that I have a graphics card to do them justice. They are both stunning.

Platinumed Bloodborne, not sure what to play now, but have Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD on the PS4 coming this week and The Witcher 3 the next. Maybe redownload FFX HD on my Vita and continue it there and switch when the PS4 version turns up as I'm pretty sure it's cross-save.

Jeez, forgot that was this week. Well, think I can safely skip it until after The Witcher 3, anyway.
Yeah I was thinking about skipping it for now too as The Witcher 3 will no doubt consume me, but I only paid like £29, and I wanted the steelbook so screw it.

Been playing the co-op mode thingy on Far Cry 3. I'm decent with headshots if they don't run around like buggers lol.

Also started How To Survive too. It's pretty decent.

Eagerly waiting on Telltale tbh though.

Started playing "The Evil Within" last night, and currently wanting Mystletainn to give me some even ground... Currently still on Chapter 1.

Finished Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga for the GBA last night. Really fun little game, not the longest in the world (clocked in around 13 hours) but every moment was full of charm. Last boss took me about 4 attempts, bastard!

About to start The Witcher 3 on PS4, hearing it has some issues on PS4 though, kinda wishing I went PC but wasn't sure how my old 670 would have handled it....ah well, how bad can it be?

The Witcher 3 - Okay I have to admit, the controls took me some time to get used to, I mean coming from Bloodborne to this is a bit of a bitch. With that being said, holy crap I love this game, it's somewhat overwhelming because of the sheer amount of stuff to do but I'll be honest, half my time has been spent just walking around and exploring.
