What Games Are You Playing?

Heading back home for the Easter break tomorrow so I figured I should discuss what games I've been playing over the past week or so (in alphabetical order):

During my own time:
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number (PS3) - Got past Level 12, took a while but I've now unlocked Act 4.

Hyperdimension Neptunia (PS3) - Since I now own mk2 and Victory I've set a goal to get this game completed (with a Platinum hopefully) before April. I've got over 50% of the Histoire Enthusiast completed which is great news, in addition to picking up the Lastation and Lowee Key Fragments. Compa is so fun to listen to during the cutscenes "I choose you Compiffytune!".

Titan Attacks (PS3 and Vita) - Decided to randomly play this game on my Vita and I figured I'll continue it on my PS3 since it's cross play after all. The game is actually pretty fun and the Trophies are really easy to get but the main problem is that it feels like vaporware and doesn't have enough replayability besides trying to get the highest score. If you like Space Invaders you'll love this game.

During my society's games night:
Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax (PS3) - Haven't played the game in a while and I got thrashed by my mates, haha.

And in addition these gems appeared at games night (I've also added screenshots in case one of you gets a 'Oh it's that game' moment):

Battle Arena Toshinden 2 (PS1) - It's like having a girl who then does some mind bending gravity moves while also acting like a magical girl jumping in the air it's just like wut? Being serious now, the game is pretty fun and we only played it for a short amount due to the time left.

Bushido Blade (PS1) - Now this, this is one interesting fighting game. If you get hit once you're dead, same goes for any other player (similar to Heaven and Hell mode on Devil May Cry). We played a lot of this and we all loved it, it's one fun game and it's even available on the Japanese PSN store so I'm tempted.

Evil Zone (PS1) - A fighting game that includes Super Saiyan style power charges and the only way to fight is to press Triangle. Also the art style reminds me a lot of Tenchi Muyo!

Soul Blade (PS1) - The game that later received a sequel called Soul Calibur. We all played on Team Battle mode where we select 5 characters and fight one on one. There were moments where I got KO'd instantly and at times where I decided it was a brilliant idea to jump straight into the outside zone LOL.

Currently enjoying Hyperdevotion Noire for the Vita. Fun tactical rpg with the Npetunia cast in. The characters and dialogue are as cute and fun as the main line games and that's what keeps me coming back.

Just finished Chapter 4, definitely ploughing through this faster than Rebirth and unfortunately replaying the missions to grind for items isn't as "fun" as doing Dungeon runs in Rebirth.

So I finally finished my first run through Hotline Miami 2. Don't quite know how I feel about that ending, but maybe that's the idea?

Ending a game in which the core mechanic involves constant, repetitive death with everyone dying seems sort of appropriate, but I feel it's a bit cold and arch and frankly, rather unsatisfying, given what's come before it. It's still a powerful narrative and one of the freshest bits of game writing I've seen in a long, long time, but... I miss the intensely personal quality of the first game and the way it left so much open to interpretation.

Been playing Bloodborne...god it's good, but jesus does it run like crap at times, which is surprising because honestly it doesn't exactly look incredible. It has other things that bother me quite a bit too, like the fact you can't just teleport from area to area, you have to go back to the hub world, then teleport from there, add in the stupid long load screens and it's just silly. With that being said, it's still a fantastic game and I'm enjoying my time with it immensely.

Really? How many other games have so many effects going on, in a huge interconnected level, at 1080p native?

The load screens are a bad joke though, agreed.

Tried Bloodborne. as a noob to the series I died a lot before even coming anywhere close to the first boss. The load times after each death. ......Man I can't be arsed with this game until they are sped up in a patch.

Well when my Brother downloaded episode 3 of Game Of Thrones, something happened causing he and I to lose our save files!

I've replayed episode 1 leaving all my choices the same bar 1 which was a reply to Cersei...I randomly chose an answer not knowing what I responded to last time as my Mum was chatting through it. Grrrrr lol. About 20 minutes into episode 2 now. I'll be playing the same way again. Well excited for episode 3. I hope to start playing it on Wednesday or Thursday :)

I got my own PS4 recently, so yesterday I have been playing Bloodborne, I'm really enjoying playing it but the only thing I don't like is the long load screens especially as I keep dying a lot lol.

Powered through Akiba Strip this weekend and have to confess It's probably the most fun I've had with a game in quite a few months. The combat mechanic gets a little repetitive after a while but it's just so satisfying, as ridiculous as it is (you basically beat people up and strip their clothes off to expose them to the sunlight).

The story is actually surprisingly well done, and the characterisation/visual style is ace - brings through a lot of visual novel/pick your route stuff and suggests a lot of replay value. The weapon/clothing upgrade system is very more-ish too.

Finally beat the first boss in Bloodborne :D
Really want to play bloodborne, sadly on xbox one though. Hope that the Amazon france leak is real and they release it for pc if not Ill just have to borrow my bros PS4 once he has completed it.

I have completed Hyperdimension Neptunia, yep the original PS3 version. It must have taken me about 60-80 hours to finally get the Platinum trophy. Frickin hell and I've had that game since October 2013.

Yesterday I checked out Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 and OH MY GOD IT'S COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. This is basically the type of gameplay that Re;Birth is using, and Compa looks really creepy sometimes. It's Compafying! (sorry for the pun)

Nevertheless I'm happy the gameplay is different because it now makes it easier for me especially now I can HEAL OUTSIDE BATTLE!
