What Games Are You Playing?

Spent the entire night playing a couple of games (literally I was up to the point Mitsuru wanted me to have a good nights rest).

- Rock Band Blitz (PS3): Finished all of the trophies already, and I'm amazed I was able to get Gold Stars much sooner than later. I'll get some more songs just to add some more replayability to it.
- Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number (PS3): Aiming with the weapon and then using it is surprisingly useful while going around knocking enemies out. Managed to get a 12x combo at one point.
- Max Payne (PS2 via PS3): This game.. wow. The aiming is rather strange, I feel like everytime I shoot an enemy the bullets always seem to aim at them despite my accuracy not being perfect. Nevertheless I have finished Part 1 so far.
- Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES (PS2 via PS3): This game is hands down awesome. I've only spent nearly 3 hours on it and the animation is cool. Surprised to see a lot of animated cutscenes which is cool.

Looking forward to getting my hands on the PS4 version of Final Fantasy Type Zero this week - anyone else grabbing it?

Yup, always wanted it on the PSP so looking forward to finally playing it. Opted for this version

Yeah the manga was the big seller for me, tbh I might sell the FF XV demo code, not that bothered about it and i'm pretty sure people are gonna be stupid and buy it for something like £20

I'm just going to be picking up the standard edition of Type-0. Personally I'm only really picking up the game for the FFXV demo. It's been a long time coming, and I want to get my hands on it in playable form before I die :D

Got the standard edition of Type-0 ordered, pretty much the same as above, I want that demo even if the more I see of XV the less interested I become.

Been playing Ori and the Blind Forest...I don't even know what to say, bringing the feels right from the start. Music is great and it's bloody gorgeous too, can tell a lot of love went into making it. Still plugging away at Persona 4 Golden, saved Rise and now waiting for them to recover and getting annoyed because I can't find Kanji to start his SL, I'm sure I need to speak with someone at the school first but can't find em.

Hotline Miami 2 - I beat this a couple days ago, what a game. It's superb honestly, the soundtrack is far better than the first, the gameplay is solid and the story is very well written. The variety in it's gameplay mechanics is pretty good, although i won't deny that i'd like a bit more in the way of unlockables in the game. However saying that, i believe i'm missing a few things in regards to the story, so i'll go back through hard mode and get what i can. So far my Game of the Year, easily

The moment when I found out you could control two guys at once (one with a chainsaw and another with a gun) I was amazed. The story is slightly confusing but at the same time very intriguing. I'm on Act 4 I think, the level where a group of people with the masks are about to invade this place (it's the level after the cop went on a boat and massacred every enemy before the police arrived to help).

I'd wager it's a soft slip box and paperback for the Manga. I'd love it to be rigid and hard cover though!
Found an unboxing and sadly it is a soft slip box and paperback manga (I think the manga is like a japanese volume its smaller than a standard volume, will post the link if anyones interested)

Yeah that duo is pretty awesome. I was discussing this with professor irony yesterday and i think he hits the nail on the head when he suggest that it goes with an "unreliable narrator" style story telling. you don't know if what's going on is real or if it's just in the minds of the characters. Personally, i love it. It ties together very well, but there is actually collectables i didn't realise where there before which help build the bigger picture of the world.

Been meaning to add my thoughts on it for a day or two, but I've never gotten round to it. Seems like an appropriate juncture.

I've not gotten that far into the game yet (blah blah work blah blah), but I'm very impressed with how they've built upon the first one. It would have been really easy for Devolver just to slap together some new maps and it would probably have been fine, but Hotline 2 feels like they've put some serious thought into where they could go with it. While I don't think the story feels as focused and personal as it did in the first game, the multi-threaded approach makes it feel much more varied, and I especially love how it plays with your sense of perception. The constant switching between different viewpoints, scenes which are taking place in a film and scenes which may or may not be mere fantasy, has really left me questioning what is real and what isn't*.

*In the game, I should stress. I haven't started checking over my shoulder for people in swan masks in real life. Yet.
