My Bleach pre-orders came in from Anime Limited. Annoyingly, Naruto set 1 is lagging a bit behind according to my tracking; I was quite looking forward to checking out the upscale today, but I suppose that will have to wait until tomorrow (fingers crossed). Important to note that these all arrived enclosed with plenty of bubble-wrap too!
Bleach Collectors Edition Set 1. First impressions, I'm not overly sold on the design for the collector's box for the original Bleach series personally. Just seems a bit "plain" to me; there's nothing of note on the spine other than the word "BLEACH" and "01-05" to denote the sets on a white background. I know sometimes they are limited in terms of the designs the licensors allow them to create, but I feel there was definitely some room for a bit more creativity (especially on the spine) from whoever gives them the green light.
The artbook is pretty thick as you would expect for 220-pages, but I was hoping there was a small chance it would have been a hardback going by the mock ups; it is a paperback. The Blu-ray includes a sleeve and the discs are held in a standard amaray case.
I think these are the exclusive art-card things that are included in the first print run only? They're about the size of a credit card, so unless you really want to see Rukia every time you open your wallet, not sure what these are for!
Next, Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Collectors Edition: Part 1. Much, much better and cleaner design on this. Although, I'm pretty sure AL have had to use the artwork from the VIZ release.
Interestingly, the amaray case is clear, and does not have the "Blu-ray disc" logo on top; which looks a lot better in my opinion. I have a few Blu-rays housed in this style amaray case, and I wish it was the standard.
