What did you BUY today?

Finally bought a new keyboard. I've been um'n n ah'n over what to get for a while now but I've been using this cheap thing for too long now so I had to buy something. I went with the Mionix Zibal 60 as I was able to try one out (always recommended when using a different mechanical switch colour) and found I really like the Cherry MX Blacks, more so than the reds I'm used to actually. Anyway Overclockers had it going for £45 which is really cheap for a mechanical keyboard but it felt great to me and the reviews seem positive enough, especially for the price.

Picked up Deus Ex: Mankind Divided too, no idea when I'll get around to playing it but looking forward to it none the less.

After a good search around town in the old fashioned 'highstreet stores' I ended up not being able to find any of the manga/novels I need to pick up so once I got back I ordered Say I Love You Volume 15 from Amazon and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (light novel) volume 6 from the Book Depository (as Amazon still had it marked for pre-order and BD had it with some money off).

Ordered from eBay:
Rock Band 3 (PlayStation 3)

Even though I said on Twitter that I wouldn't buy anymore this month. I decided to quickly go ahead and get a copy of Rock Band 3 for the PlayStation. This is for getting the songs exported onto Rock Band 4. Used copies have been confirmed to work with the export business. Basically it works the same way as a new copy would, by having the Rock Band 3 game on your Trophies list and having a go at the game (like getting a trophy).

Once that's done I'll need to get Rock Band 4 and buy the Export pack for £11.99.

It bums me out that Harmonix could never figure out a way to get 360 DLC to export to PS4. Given how many of us switched platforms this time around I'm really surprised they didn't pursue as imo it was quite a large factor in the lack of success Rock Band 4 has had. That and it's a barebones version of Rock Band 3.

I had bought a stupid amount of DLC for Rock Band on 360 (library was above 800 songs) and I had no intention of ever buying an Xbox One so without the option to export most of that library to PS4 there was no way I was going to buy RB4.

Glad I'm not the only one who has a ton of 360 content but wants them transferred to PS4.

I don't mind starting from scratch though, since I regret getting certain songs for various reasons. To make things simpler I decided to download songs I haven't played before plus go after songs I played and really liked but via track packs to save money (Nine Inch Nails's Perfect Drug is so much fun so I got the track pack).

Oh, and I also just reserved Rock Band 4 w/Guitar at Argos and apparently have to collect it by tomorrow. £24.99 though which is a good value (I would have shipped to home but it's £3.95 postage on all days).

I don't suppose you got a good price on RB3 did you? I also want it for exporting but the price is weirdly high for a 6 year old game...

Bought myself a an autumn jacket while in NYC. Surprised I didn't buy more, but nothing tickled my fancy. Now that I'm home again, just ordered another autumn jacket, this one comes with a hood though.

Over the past few days I bought a £20 top up card for the PlayStation Network so that I don't have to use my payment details on the console (as it seems more and more people are getting their accounts hit).

Here's what I picked up:
  • Rock Band 3 Export Pack [£11.99] - Includes all 83 songs from the on-disc setlist.
  • Incubus Pack 01 [£3.29]
    • Adolescents
    • Pardon Me
    • Wish You Were Here
  • Killswitch Engage Pack 01 [£3.29]
    • The Arms of Sorrow
    • The End of Heartache
    • Starting Over
  • Mastodon - Blood and Thunder [£1.19]
I noticed all of the Rock Band 3 DLC tracks haven't been affected by the price increase that the Pre-Rock Band 3 tracks had. In other words, the individual tracks are still £1.19 instead of £1.69 [50p+] and the track packs are still £3.29 instead of £4.49 [80p+].

Despite the recent collapse of the sterling I went ahead and made my first order with Solaris Japan. The title is Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition for PS4. I really enjoyed the PS3 original and wanted to double dip for this one and since it has been a very long time, SEGA haven't even bothered to bring over this version. Another reason for picking this up is for the gaming night events at my society, because I promised to offer some imports for them to play. So until then the only imports I have for now are Hatsune Miku Project Diva Arcade Future Tone and this game.

I did plan on adding another PS4 game but there really wasn't that much to offer. The other import only fighting games available are apparently not that great (Blade Arcus from Shining EX and Koihime Enbu).

There's also the Asian English releases of Gundam to consider but they don't have local multiplayer.

Nice. I wonder how Tatsuya plays...

Anyway i bought a replacement bookshelf for the one that exploded and a slim fit HDMI cable as my monitor also died so im just going to link it to my tv and save some precious space

And once again the sterling crashes even further, but that didn't stop me from acquiring a very special release from Limited Run Games; Suda51's The Silver Case.

The bad news is that the set won't arrive until December but the good news is that I'll get a Steam key sometime this week (since the game is out on October 7th). This collector's edition comes with a physical copy that's DRM-free, Original Soundtrack CD, Artbook, 22-page manga, Two-piece manual set and an Individually numbered box (the box is 7.75" x 9.5" x 1.75" - the same box dimensions as many classic PC games from the 80s and 90s.). The set costs around $64.99 which converted to about £53.

Took delivery of my 50" Samsung 4K set today, it's huge! Step up from 32" is immense, and picture is big and beautiful! Watched some 4K stuff via amazon and still playing with all teh settings to get everything to my liking, this may take some time!

Well that's a big step up yes. Used to have a 42" TV myself, until i bought a Panasonic 65" Plasma TV exactly three years ago to the date. It was Panasonic's last ever plasma screen. This a brilliant screen with vivid colours and great black values.

But you'll get used to the screen size ... fast, i certainly did and find 65" rather small these days :)

Huh, just 4k'd myself as a matter of fact. 27" monitor however. It's not the size, it's the pixel density that counts.

One of these babies, Freesync either isn't working for me or my eyes aren't compatible with Freesync because while there's no tearing it looks like the picture is stuttering when I turn it on. But I bought it for graphical work rather than gaming anyway.

I've been thinking about going for a 4k TV but I hear they have pretty bad screen lag when playing video games, and because I play a lot of fighting games, that's not really an option. That said I'm gonna have to buy something by the end of the year and I don't see the point going 1080p again.
