I want Bakemonogatari, and Rice Digital have it really cheap, but I can't afford to spend any money at the moment.

Damn you for drawing my attention to that site IncendiaryLemon :(
If you're looking at buying any of the Monogatari series, suggest looking under other sellers on Amazon and finding MVM's own shop. It's often way cheaper than what Amazon have listed on the front page.

Same price as Rice Digital currently (without the current 10% discount promo though).

Thanks for the tip. :)

I will be getting Bakemonogatari for Christmas. It cost £32 using the Rice Digital code.

I think I wanted to like Kiddy Grade more than I actually liked it. It's one of those shows with some decent ideas and a lot of potential but it couldn't seem to figure out what it wanted to do and what it went with in the end didn't feel like the best choice. Still, I suppose part of the reason that it was frustrating is that there were good elements in there to begin with so it's not all bad. Probably worth it for £10 anyway (and I suspect some people would like it more than I did).

Is there a way of hiding entire topics? It seems like every time I look in this topic, there's something cheap that I want, but can't afford. (I'm a student who just had to spend £200+ on textbooks.) Damn you all and damn myself for continuously looking in this thread.

I believe AL have said they won't be doing a blu-ray, at least not for a few years. FUNi have one planned in the US, but there's no date or anything.

AL said " If Japan's doing it we'll release it :)"
The Japanese release came out a year ago. I don't think there's beeen any news out of FUNimation on it or their other Sunrise rescues since they were announced two years ago. I expect that
a) there will be holdbacks before an overseas BD release of goodness knows how long.
b) AL will want to wait for FUNi to release it so they can use their masters.

More recent statements seem to have been more pessimistic. I believe Andrew's more recent statements have been of the 'there's nothing in the pipeline, we're not planning anything, but we won't rule it out either' variety, so I wouldn't bank on an AL blu-ray, even if FUNi do one. And FUNi recently confirmed that they're still waiting on assets for many of their Bandai rescues, and I shan't imagine Outlaw Star is top priority (especially since FUNi has everyone's beloved Code Geass ) so it'll probably be a very long time before FUNi put theirs out.

It's a sticky contract point for me, I'm swinging round on it if we can do it though so watch this space :)!
