UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Bargains

I know most people here seem to have it already but Kill la Kill Part 1 on Blu Ray is only £19 on Zavvi

http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/kill-la-ki ... 85082.html

This is the first time I've seen it under £25.

It's been below £25 for a month or two now on Zavvi, and it's been £19 for 2 or 3 weeks now. All the Anime Limited titles went on sale about the same time. It's worth checking Zavvi as they do seem to add anime offers every now and then, and they tend to be fairly good offers too.

Not illegal afaik unless it contains banned material, e.g lolicon. Hell there is a movie memoribilia store near Orbital in London that sells a lot of R1/A imports of movies and tv series.

I think the rule for BBFC certification only applies to domestic releases.
Possession of an unrated work is not illegal (unless the contents itself is), but supply is.

Can I bring back DVDs from abroad that are not currently rated?

The Video Recordings Act 1984 (VRA) makes it illegal to supply any video or DVD within the UK which has not been age rated by the BBFC. There are some exceptions to this (for example, educational works or works predominantly concerned with sport, religion and music) but all feature films and TV programmes must be age rated.

Although it is not a customs offence to import an unclassified video or DVD it must be for your personal use only and the content must not breach the UK law (for example, The Obscene Publications Acts 1959 and 1964, Protection of Children Act 1978).

You may therefore purchase unclassified videos or DVDs whilst abroad, provided they contain no illegal material and are solely for personal use.

There's an amazon marketplace seller on Amazon FR who has a new copy. with shipping it comes out to £17.30 (so slightly cheaper than cex once they add shipping + it's new...)

I wonder if they'd accept the argument that Anime counts as a religion. To be fair, we even have Idols.

I suspect you may be in the wrong thread :p
Sorry, it was related to what Shiroi Hane posted but I was too lazy to mess with the quotes. I'll go fix it.

Now I feel like I've undermined the joke somehow. Oh well, hopefully someone will laugh at my failure at least.
