UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Bargains

The Kill la Kill price is excellent. Even cheaper than the Anime Limited Christmas sale of the erroneous initial batch of stock. Cements my decision to hold off on part two for a deal, but will pick up part 3 on launch for the holding box.

I'm a little tempted by Kill la Kill at that price but I think I'm going to just wait for the (Eventual) complete collection a year down the road unless the other volumes get to that price.

Yeah - I'm holding off from KLK as the uncertainty (for me) of nabbing the other two volumes at current prices is too great. VERY tempting, though.

Also, not to be a downer, but the status of Perfect Blue as being on back-order with Amazon doesn't inspire confidence. Some of the other sellers there are in the same ball park, though!

I'm not the hugest fan of Kon's work, and I already have Perfect Blue on DVD. But for £7.77 I've taken a punt on the blu ray - I figure it HAS to be better quality than my old Manga Ent. copy.

Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt Bluray/DVD combo is £15.50 on amazon. Never seen it that cheap

Pfft. Got it for €15/~£11.50 new at a con, though all of Mangas stuff was mad cheap at it. Got both sets of Blue Exorcist on BD for that price each too. :p
Ordered Tiger and Bunny at that price, my bank balance is going to take a bit of a hit around that time between T&B, KlK, Baccano and Nadia.

Good for you. Personally I don't bother with conventions as the amount it costs to get to them and get into them negates any savings to be had in there.

Depends on the con, location and why you are going.

I live near Dublin where the biggest cons happen here so accommodation and travel aren't a problem for me. Last years Nom-Con was excellent with some fantastic panels like the late night Panty and Stocking panel with Jamie Marchi, Ian Sinclair and Christopher Sabat where a lot of alcohol was ingested by both crowd and panellists with some very blue language. Plus we got an "extended preview" of the English dub of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.

On the other hand there are soul crushing cons like MCM which only seem to be designed to remove as much money from your wallet as possible :( .

Oddly enough, there's a very real possibility that I might bump into some AUKNers at an MCM in the not too distant future...

Probably went to MCM then. It was in London and despite living near London I was still down about £40 for transport etc. It was a very big event but there was little in the way of entertainment etc, I just remember a token cosplay competition and that's about it.

Another Amazon deal (3rd party seller)
Yamada's First Time Blu-ray (region free) £9.42
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gata-Kei-Comple ... 79RTMSX1NB

Save cover is reversible to non-save one. Picked it up myself last time it was this price.

I wonder if the price was a mistake or not. It seems really odd to have the price be more than half of the SRP weeks before release. Also if it is a mistake, I wonder if they'll honour the pre orders. I remember when Zavvi screwed up and had KLK Box 1 at £12 or something for pre-order and they cancelled everyone's orders...

For what it's worth, Amazon have applied the price promise and reduced my existing £25.25 preorder down to £10.75. So far I've had been fortunate with Amazon honouring misprices, but we'll see what happens.

Eyeing up those sales and can't decide what's worth a punt out of the below - which should I go for?

The four parts of Tiger & Bunny
The three parts of Persona 4
Last Exile
Blue Exorcist
Panty & Stocking

My order is still £10.21 so I guess Amazon will keep honouring everyone who ordered it.

Man, Amazon is lowering all of these prices yet Bakemonogatari is still £45. C'mon Amazon.

@Lutga, I found Blue Exorcist to be incredibly underwhelming. Great in concept and the first and last few episodes are great but the middle is kind of Meh IMO. P4 The Animation is pretty good but is no replacement for playing the game. Can't comment on the others, haven't seen them.

I remember buying the ADV Hellsing box set for £15 in MVC (just been released and should have been £50). That was one good thing about brick & mortar - as long as the person at the till didn't smell a rat you were home and dry with pricing errors. Which is why I didn't push my luck and get three :p
(still, does anyone remember when CEX was flooded with those MVM promotion discs you could get 10 for a fiver in The Works?)
