The Wii U Thread (Including NNIDs)!

Anybody used Wii Street U?

I balked at the announcement, but am glad to eat my words. Yes it's a specialised version of Street View, but it knows how to work on consoles. Especially like the sfx they put in specific places. But pay for it? Probably not.

I had a quick go on it today, was a lot of fun! Someone's reported the one segment of my road I'm on to Google though so I can't see my house :(

Wii Street U is really fun. I explored Shibuya the other day...and first thing I saw was a Starbucks >>

I tried to find Kyoto Animation's headquarters in well, Kyoto, but I gave up xD. My house is still a field though.

A demo for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate went live for both Wii U and 3DS today (as did the SNES F-Zero for 30p).

Monster Hunter 3 definitely needs the Circle Pad Pro on 3DS.

39MB for F-Zero! The original wasn't that! What kind of futuristic shenanigans is this!?!

To be honest, I never liked the original (or GBA) games. X and GX, though...

At least we got F-Zero at 60Htz instead of 50, like Balloon Trip.

And yeah, F-Zero X was awesome. We do need a new HD Wii U F-Zero game though.

That's the only thing I really want from Nintendo, much more so than any other of their franchises.

So I gave F-Zero a go and, choosing the Blue Falcon started on beginner...

What a laugh! I just could not control the vehicle...

GO!

Bang... forward... bang... turn... bang... car overtakes... bang... corner... bang... mine... bang... straight... bang... another corner... bang.

It was then that I remembered I always chose Fire Stingray for the heavier handling

If I remember correctly, Miyamoto (I think it was) said that the problem Nintendo sees with F-Zero is that they can't think of any ways to innovate the series any more than they have, so that's why there hasn't been a new one in a while. It has been shown though that they do listen to what people say on Miiverse (Such as us getting a general The Legend of Zelda community and F-Zero at 60Hz as opposed to 50Hz), so I'd say people should start talking about it in the F-Zero Miiverse community.

They certainly aren't a stranger to reviving older franchises - Kid Icarus is a good example of that, as is Takamaru's Ninja Castle from Nintendo Land.

Tried the Monster Hunter demo (first time I've ever tried the series). Spent half the time running around as a giant snowball. That and I kept pressing a button and hearing a cartoony squashing sound. At first I thought it was those two rabbit helper things getting kinky.

Hasn't stopped them with the New Super Mario Bros. series, has it? Oh, he did not just go there...

I liked the Monster Hunter Wii U demo...I still haven't defeated the second monster (I mostly time out). I kinda really want LEGO City Undercover too, but I can only afford one Wii U game a month.

Nintendo are gonna need some burn heal!

A bit upset (and peeved) that Lego City has performance issues. Was really looking forward to it, but some reviews make it sound like a game breaker. Chances of a day one patch? Please...

Not a good start for the U.

I've read a lot of positive reviews about it to be honest. Only downside is that if you want to buy it from the eShop, you'll need an external hard-drive as it's 22GB.

The developers of the Need for Speed game have said that the best version is the Wii U version though, so there's something.

I'm not sure how others feel about the Wii U but over the last month or so its gathered dust and am slowly regretting my purchase, the only thing that keeps me from trading it in is knowing that Wind Waker and Bayonetta 2 is on the way. Other than that it feels like wasted potential at the moment.

I dunno, I'm getting a lot out of it, but that might be because I've never had a PS360 for more than a few days, so I've been playing some of the ports, like Batman and Tekken.

I do wish it had more support though.
