The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

Noooo! I really hope more people support it. Vinland Saga is a fantastic series. :(

I thought something was up, when Vol 7 kept getting pushed back.

This seems like a bad decision on Kodansha's part, because Vinland Saga looks interesting, but why would I start buying a manga that may or may not be completed? Especially one that's quite expensive.

(Edit: For the first time ever something is cheaper on Comixology than Kindle?! This may be a sign of the impending apocalypse...)

Doesn't matter anymore. Got an email it the last week saying I can now use all my kindle graphic novels on the Comixology app. They're both Amazon anyway.

I've merged my accounts but they haven't all copied through, so Vol. 1 of My Hero Academia copied across, but Vol. 2 didn't...

Not able to get any Viz manga digitally here in Ireland outside the Viz app :(.

Seems you can. Last time I tried to get a viz manga on kindle I got an error saying it wasn't available in my country.

Having thought about it, I think I tried purchasing World Trigger from US Kindle and it showed as being available until I logged in. So maybe they can set individual book restrictions.

It's a shame though, since I've reached the point where I won't buy physical manga anymore. I wanted to read the Log Horizon LNs but the lack of Kindle put me off completely...

I was going to say but I feared that saying it would spur Viz Europe into action to block all good things ever.

You think Viz Europe pay attention to anything anybody says ever?

Anyway, the Kindle transfer is still not 100% up for all titles yet, you just need to email Comixology and they'll look into it apparently.

Only when it suits them to make an arse of themselves, yes.

Oh what's that, Comixology has a comic sync that's allowing people to buy GNS and read them on a better client, well we better get on that and lock it down because we're Viz Eruope and we make the braindead look like Mensa candidates by comparison!

You'd have to assume, Amazon have checked and their contract allows them to link the two. So provided Viz Europe actually has the rights to put them on Kindle there shouldn't be an issue. Given the fact half their titles aren't on Kindle, that would suggest Viz Europe do actually check their contracts first.
