I think they mean SD upscales. Shows that are sub 480p. Most shows are at least 500p IIRC, a majority being higher.
I only have the first issue of MyM; I dropped it due to the controversy over data theft. The new management changed my opinion, but I haven't as much as seen an issue since (not that I've hunted for it or anything).Rui said:MyM, though it has branched out a little. I haven't read it as recently as my last NEO experience but I wasn't impressed the last time I picked it up and it's become deeply involved with the MCM bunch, whose opinions on things like bootlegging are just as peculiar as those of the administrators of NEO.
I really doubt £30 come on its going to be 40-50 easy you've got to think 0079 is 36 years old and that's £80 for the complete setIncendiaryLemon said:I'm no expert of course but seeing as it's an older show rather than a new one, I think that £25-£30 might be a more sensible price estimate despite its high episode count. Not only would that price be more reasonable for people who already own it to double dip, it would also be a low enough gap between the DVD and BD price to encourage any potential newcomers to choose the BD over the DVD.
IncendiaryLemon said:Manga's hypothetical Death Note BD release and AL's Gundam 079 release are barely even comparable. For a start, like it or not, Death Note is far more popular and has already established itself as a success in the UK. Gundam, despite being a big name, is way less likely to appeal to a casual fan the way Death Note does, meaning that with Death Note they can have a lower price because they know it's going to sell like hotcakes, Gundam is more of a risk. Second, Gundam is a CE. The first part comes with a nice artbox and the second part comes with an artbook. Manga don't push the boat out like that and I highly doubt they'd release anything other than a barebones release, inherently bringing the cost down. Third, Death Note is going to be in competition with its own DVD, meaning if it isn't priced competitively, it is going to struggle to sell to a casual market, whereas Gundam has no such problem.
As I say, this is all just speculation on my behalf. I could be wrong, but I think that it would be illogical to charge as much as £40. Weather £30 is a practical price point from a business perspective is another matter entirely...
thedoctor2016 said:I disagree with is Gundam isn't a CE They've never called it that you only get bonuses with the first print. Maybe Baccano is a better example as that had a cheap DVD but cost £40 for 24 maybe it was a CE but why can't death note be a bit of a CE so they can charge £40-£50 like it that surely £40 will be the price. AGK is £30 for a 24 eps and that's a "cheap" release so for 31 and a film, they will charge a bit more and I expect they will put it in a chipboard box so it will be worth £40.
thedoctor2016 said:AGK will drop to 30-35 for sure

Except that there are still a bunch of idiots crying and demanding the site be saved, have they not heard of Crunchyroll? :x

The comments on there are depressing. A ton of people saying "I love Anime, Anime is my life, that's why I use an illegal site that doesn't support the creators" and "I'd pay for Kiss Anime"
